As a semi-regular user of sites such as Football365 and Team Talk, I was fairly familiar with the work of Planet Sport prior to signing up for a betting account.
Initially, I was impressed by the slick interface and I found it easier than expected to navigate between pages and sign up for an account.
They’ve opted to put their trust in Play Book Ltd, who are responsible for a number of recently launched online betting sites such as BetZone and Rhino Bet. Although Planet Sport largely apes the aforementioned bookmakers, there are plenty of clear differences and they have used a black and red colour scheme to maintain their established and successful branding.
The sign-up process was simple and I was able to make my initial deposit and begin wagering within a few minutes. Let’s get one of the major negatives out of the way early doors; I was left a little underwhelmed by their welcome bonus.
I’m always happy to receive free spins and I’m not shy of venturing onto an online casino, however, I would have preferred to been given the option of a dedicated sportsbook bonus.
Thankfully, I was able to meet the qualifying criteria and was able to top up my betting balance using my 50 free spins. Sadly, there doesn’t appear to be a dedicated promotions page available, so I wasn’t able to check if I eligible for any other bonuses.
Nevertheless, I was pleased to see that there were a handful of promotions available for existing customers and I was pleased to find that I could take advantage of the 50% accumulator bonus which was available across a wide variety of sports. This was particularly handy on a busy Saturday afternoon.
Overall, I was more than satisfied with the variety of sports listed. Many betting apps and football betting sites tend to pride themselves on offering a wide variety of sports betting markets and Planet Sport Bet certainly falls into that category with 22 options listed in the A-Z menu. Within each of these categories, there were ample options as well as additional live in-play markets.
The live in-play section of the site is easy to locate and although it tends to be sparsely populated on a Monday morning, it gets much busier as the day/week progresses and having conducted this Planet Sport bet review during the French Open, I was delighted by the sheer number of matches and markets available on the second Grand Slam of the season.
The odds were pleasingly competitive and when placing a bet with Planet Sport, you can rest assured that you won’t be left short-changed by insufficient value. We tested the odds across a number of different events (using Oddschecker) and PSB always ranked favourably.
Placing a bet was fairly straightforward and I could easily create a multiple by adding each selection into my betting slip. Planet Sport Bet also gave me the option to select from a number of different permutations including Trixie, Patent and Lucky 15.
Having left myself short of time, I was delighted with the speed with which I was able to navigate between matches and add selections to my betting slip.
Planet Sport Bet took a bit of time to launch their accompanying mobile app, however, I’m pleased to say that it is now available. I found it incredibly straightforward to download and install the app onto my smartphone. I was able to make a deposit and visit PSB’s online casino using my iOS device.
The app occasionally glitches and I was left frustrated by its propensity to log me out, yet overall, I was pleased with the design and ease of use.
As you’ll have spotted in the pros and cons section of our Planet Sport Bet review, I was disappointed by the lack of variety when it came to the payment options. Sadly, punters are not currently able to make a deposit using Apple Pay, Google Pay or e-wallets, and this is hugely frustrating.
On a far more positive note, the payment process is very straightforward and I was able to fund my account within seconds of signing up for an account. Withdrawals took slightly longer, however, following some customary checks, I received my winnings within 48 hours.
Although I found it remarkably easy to use the site and app, I opted to contact customer services for the purposes of this Planet Bet Sport review, and I received a bright and breezy response to my query.
Unfortunately, live chat is unavailable, which is rather frustrating, however, the contact form and direct email address provide a fairly decent alternative. I received my response within 4 hours.
Overall, Planet Sport have created an excellent online platform for placing sports bet. However, there are one or two issues which need ironing out. The addition of a live chat service wouldn’t go amiss, whereas, expanding the payment options would be welcomed by the majority of punters.
Nevertheless, if you want a hassle-free way to bet on your favourite sports with competitive odds, then PSB have created a credible alternative to the big hitters and they make it extremely straightforward to get started.
