The Epsom Derby Day card generated a record turnover for a composite race-day on the World Pool of £38.7 million last weekend. 
 
Four races at Eagle Farm in Australia, including the Group 1 Queensland Derby, also contributed to the eye-watering World Pool pot.

World Pool Keeps Powering Forward

The World Pool turnover generated on Epsom Derby Day topped the previous record of £38m set in March from big races in Dubai and Australia. 
 
The Epsom Derby produced a World Pool total of £5.2m, a £1m year-on-year increase. However, the figure was £800,000 lower than the 2022 total. 
 
All five days of the upcoming Royal Ascot meeting are the next World Pool days to be hosted in the United Kingdom. Irish Derby Day at The Curragh is the next one in Ireland.
