Sports Betting News: City of Troy Gets Timeform Seal of Approval

The Aidan O’Brien-trained City Of Troy was handed a Timeform rating of 130p after his impressive victory in the Juddmonte International Stakes at York in midweek.

He is now the highest-rated horse in training ahead of White Birch and Kyprios after breaking the track record on the Knavesmire.

Read on as we look at how Timeform arrived at the new rating, before assessing some of the other top stories from the sports betting sector this week.

Highlights

  • City Of Troy tops the Timeform ratings.
  • UEFA agrees new partnership with bet365.
  • Fitzdares teams up with the Tote.

City Of Troy Closes the Gap on Hawk Wing

Timeform handicapper Rory King says City Of Troy’s revised rating ‘could be considered a touch conservative given the number of very smart horses down the field’.

However, the proximity of third-placed Ghostwriter holds the form down, while the following wind in the home straight raised questions about the track record being broken.

King admitted that a victory in the Breeders’ Cup Classic in November would likely fire City Of Troy ahead of O’Brien’s highest-rated horse Hawk Wing (136).

UEFA Secures Champions League Betting Partner

The operator of one of the top football betting sites in the United Kingdom has become the first official wagering partner of the UEFA Champions League.

The move will provide bet365 with widespread brand exposure on Champions League digital channels, media backdrops and in-game perimeter boards.

The three-year deal includes a large ticket giveaway and other exciting incentives linked to the bet365 ‘Never Ordinary’ experiences.

Fitzdares Agrees a Deal with the Tote

Leading UK betting operator Fitzdares has agreed a deal with the Tote, which will see the latter company’s range of exotic wagers added to The Racing App.

Placepot, Quadpot and Double will feature immediately on the app, while Tote Single and Forecast will be added into the mix later this year.

The Racing App has also launched a new desktop site, which includes a plethora of content and easy access to Fitzdares and Tote betting products.
