Royal Ascot 2024: Betting Trends for the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes

The prestigious Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes is the headline act on Day Five of the 2024 Royal Ascot meeting.

Khadeem was a shock 80/1 winner of the race last year and horse racing betting sites will be hoping for a similar result this time around.

We have studied the recent record books to uncover some key betting trends that we think will help you pick the winner of the 2024 Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Stakes.

Highlights

  • Hills aiming to go back-to-back.
  • Mill Stream could be dangerous.
  • Kinross needs softer ground.

Key Trends for the Commonwealth Cup

  • Nine of the last 12 winners were aged four or five.
  • 8/12 winners were in the top three in the betting.
  • 5/12 winners won on their last run.
  • 10/12 winners had at least one previous win over six furlongs.
  • 9/12 winners were rated 114 or higher.
  • 6/12 winners had at least one previous win that season.

Mitbaahy Could be Tough to Beat

Trainer Charlie Hills won the race with Khadeem last year and could repeat the feat this weekend with talented sprinter Mitbaahy.

The improving five-year-old ticks several key trends boxes and should give jockey Jamie Spencer an excellent spin at the Berkshire racecourse.

Mitbaahy claimed a narrow victory in the Group 2 Greenlands Stakes at The Curragh on his last outing and is fancied to follow up at the royal meeting.

He defeated Regional on that occasion and the form was franked when that horse ran well to finish second in the King Charles III Stakes earlier this week.

Kinross would be a big danger if the ground came up soft, but he has not run since last October and has a poor first-time out record.

Shartash has won twice at a lower level this season and could struggle with the step up in class, which leaves Mill Stream as the biggest threat to Mitbaahy.

The four-year-old was a narrow winner of the Duke of York Clipper Stakes at York last month and appears to still be improving.
