Premier League Betting Tips: The Best Bets for the 2023/24 Season

The 2023/24 Premier League season kicks off on Friday, August 11, with a clash between newly promoted Burnley and reigning champions Manchester City.

The top UK betting apps rate Pep Guardiola’s side as odds-on favourites to retain the title and it would be a brave move to back against them achieving the feat.

Read on we take a closer look at the upcoming Premier League campaign and offer our best bets from the plethora of outright markets available.

Highlights

  • Villa can continue to build under Emery.
  • Forest tempting in the relegation market.
  • Nunez fancied to showcase his talent.

Villa Could be in the Top Six Mix

Aston Villa’s decision to sack Steven Gerrard as manager last November paid huge dividends, with his replacement Unai Emery sparking a massive turnaround in their fortunes.

Emery guided Villa out of trouble up to seventh in the table and his team look a good bet to build on the progress they made when the new campaign gets underway.

Several football betting sites are offering odds of 2/1 for Villa to secure another top seven finish and that looks great value given their performances under Emery.

The Midlands outfit are a best-priced 3/1 to finish in the top six, while odds of 10/1 to end the campaign in the top four may tempt some punters.

Forest set to Struggle Again

Nottingham Forest flirted with relegation for most of last season, but eventually finished the campaign four points clear of the drop zone.

However, they are expected to struggle again this time around, particularly given their incoming transfer business has been largely underwhelming.

Numerous new betting sites are offering odds of 11/4 on Forest to finish in the bottom three and that looks well worth an interest.

The trio of newly promoted teams are also likely to struggle, with Luton Town and Sheffield United the most likely to go straight back down.

Liverpool Striker Will be Eager to Impress

Many overseas players struggle to adapt in their first season in the Premier League, and that was undoubtedly the case with Darwin Nunez last term.

The Liverpool striker bagged just nine goals in 29 league appearances to cast doubt on his ability to make the grade in English football.

However, he has looked extremely sharp during pre-season and could be a good each-way bet in the top goalscorer market at odds of 16/1 on UK betting sites.

Manchester City’s Erling Braut Haaland is odds-on to win the Golden Boot, but Nunez could reward punters by finishing among the top four scorers this season.
