League Two Betting Tips: The Best Bets for the 2023/24 Season

The 2023/24 EFL League Two season is just around the corner and several clubs have genuine hopes of winning promotion at the end of the campaign.

National League champions Wrexham are the favourites on most football betting sites to secure another promotion, but they are unlikely to have things their own way.

With that in mind, we take a closer look at the upcoming season in League Two and offer our best bets before the new campaign gets underway.

Highlights

  • Hughes can guide Bradford into the top three.
  • Alexander eyeing another promotion.
  • Crewe will be looking nervously over their shoulders.

Bradford a Good Bet for the Top Three

Bradford City were one of the more fancied teams on betting apps last season, but missed out on promotion after losing in the semi-finals of the play-offs.

They are priced at 14/1 (bwin) to win the title this time around and that looks decent each-way value despite the strength of the division.

They have retained the services of free-scoring forward Andy Cook, while manager Mark Hughes has made several shrewd signings in the summer transfer window.

Centre-back Ash Taylor’s arrival from Kilmarnock looks particularly noteworthy and Bradford look a good bet to win automatic promotion.

MK Dons Should be in the Promotion Mix

MK Dons were arguably unlucky to be relegated from the third-tier last season, but could make an immediate return under new manager Graham Alexander.

The 51-year-old has previously won promotion with Fleetwood Town and Salford City and nearly guided Scunthorpe United into the Championship.

He also took Motherwell into Europe and his appointment represents something of a coup for a club that were in the Championship as recently as 2015/16.

Odds of 10/3 (bwin) to win promotion either automatically or via the play-offs should give punters a good run for their money next season.

Crewe’s Long Stay in the League is in Jeopardy

Picking a team to be relegated from League Two is no easy task, but odds of 6/1 on Crewe Alexandra on new betting sites could be worth an interest.

A late surge helped them finish 13th in the standings last season, but they spent most of the campaign looking nervously over their shoulders.

Top scorer Dan Agyei has left the club to join Leyton Orient, while quality incomings have been thin on the ground this summer.

Crewe have spent more than one hundred years in the EFL, but dropping into the National League is a genuine possibility for the Cheshire outfit.
