Euro 2024 – Preview

England will head into the tournament as the 3/1 favourites on betting apps to lift the trophy, but they make limited appeal as a betting proposition.

The Three Lions have not won major silverware since 1966 and are unlikely to snap that streak with overly cautious manager Gareth Southgate leading the team.

France make far greater appeal at odds of 4/1 given the talent in their squad. They qualified easily for the tournament and will be tough to beat in Germany.

The hosts should be competitive on home soil, while Spain, Belgium and Italy will all fancy their chances of making a deep run this summer.

Portugal could be dangerous at odds of 8/1 as star striker Cristiano Ronaldo bids to bow out on the international stage by leading them to glory.

They were hugely impressive during the qualification phase and could be worth a bet at odds of 6/4 to progress to the semi-finals.

The Netherlands are another team worth watching and they could deliver a winning return to punters who back them at odds of 11/8 to reach the last eight.
