Champions League 2024/25: Bookies Wary of Liverpool and Leverkusen

The first two rounds of matches in the 2024/25 Champions League have triggered some noteworthy moves in the outright betting market.

Manchester City are still the favourites with football betting sites to lift the trophy after picking up four points from their opening league phase matches.

Read on as we look at some of the key changes to the Champions League betting after the completion of two rounds of fixtures.

Highlights

  • Man City drift after dropping points.
  • Liverpool cut in the betting.
  • Leverkusen worth monitoring this season.

Liverpool & Leverkusen are the Early Movers

Manchester City were rated as 2/1 shots in the ante-post market on several betting apps, but have drifted to 11/4 after the first two games.

City were held to a goalless draw by Inter Milan in their first match, before recording an emphatic 4-0 victory at Slovan Bratislava in their next outing.

Reigning champions Real Madrid are next in the betting despite picking up just three points from the fixtures against Stuttgart and Lille.

Arsenal and Bayern Munich are the only other teams listed at single figure prices, but several other teams are heading in that direction.

Liverpool have been cut from 12/1 to 10/1 after defeating AC Milan and Bologna and already look a good bet to reach the last-16.

The same can be said for Bayer Leverkusen, who have been cut from 25/1 to 16/1 after recording victories over Feyenoord and Milan.

Borussia Dortmund are another team with a 100 percent record after beating Club Brugge and Celtic in their first two matches.

Brest, Benfica, Aston Villa and Juventus complete the line-up of teams who will head into Matchday 3 aiming to maintain their perfect start to the competition.
