Jonbon will bid to win his 11th race in 13 career starts over fences when he lines up in the Tingle Creek Chase at Sandown on Saturday.

Jockey Nico De Boinville was delighted with his run at Cheltenham and suggested the horse still had room for improvement as the season progresses.

He easily fended off Edwardstone in this race last year and should have little difficulty franking that form this time around.

Alan King’s charge should finish in the first three, but he will need Jonbon to run under par to have any chance of adding to his 2022 success in this race.

Irish raider Quilixios could give the favourite something to think about having produced a fine round of jumping to win the Poplar Square Chase at Naas last month.

He would dangerous if he gets an easy lead on the front end, but Jonbon has enough class to keep him in his sights before forging clear in the home straight.
