Betting Trends for the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes

Auguste Rodin will bid for redemption when he lines up in the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.

Aidan O’Brien’s charge was hugely disappointing in this race 12 months ago, but is the favourite on horse racing betting sites to make amends.

We have studied the recent record books to uncover some key betting trends that we think will help you pick the winner of the 2024 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes.

Highlights

  • Auguste Rodin ticks plenty of boxes.
  • Rebel’s Romance needs to step up.
  • Ratings trend is a red flag for Bluestocking.

Key Trends for the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes

  • Nine of the last 12 winners were aged four or older.
  • 4/12 winners were favourites.
  • 7/12 winners were in the top three in the betting.
  • 8/12 winners won on their last run.
  • 7/12 winners had at least one previous run at Ascot.
  • 11/12 winners had a rating of 118 or higher.

Auguste Rodin Fancied to set the Record Straight

Auguste Rodin won the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot on his most recent outing and is a worthy favourite on UK betting apps for the race this weekend.

The four-old ticks plenty of the key trend boxes and should be tough to beat in his bid to put last year’s disappointing run behind him.

The Deep Impact colt is joined by stablemates Luxembourg and Hans Anderson this weekend, and the former could run into a place at a decent price.

Charlie Appleby-trained Rebel’s Romance boasts the same rating as Auguste Rodin and has won his last four races, but is yet to compete at the highest level in Great Britain.

Bluestocking is also prominent in the betting after winning the Group 1 Pretty Polly Stakes at The Curragh, but her rating suggests she could find it tough this weekend.

The stronger pace could suit Middle Earth, with joint-trainer John Gosden adamant the horse did not give his true running in the Hardwicke Stakes at the royal meeting.

However, everything points to Auguste Rodin proving why O’Brien thinks he is one of the most talented horses he has ever trained.
