3 Horses to Follow at Kempton & Leopardstown at Christmas

Christmas is one of the busiest times of the year for horse racing betting sites, with top-class meetings taking place on both sides of the Irish Sea.

The Kempton and Leopardstown Festivals are packed with Grade 1 action, making them the perfect vehicle for new and experienced punters alike.

With that in mind, we have scoured the entries to identify three horses we think are banker bets to win their respective races over the Christmas period.

Highlights

  • Allaho should romp home in the King George.
  • Irish Point fancied at Leopardstown.
  • Corbetts Cross can continue to shine.

Mullins Aiming to Improve King Geroge Record

Top Irish trainer Willie Mullins has only won the King Geroge VI chase at Kempton twice in his career, but his Allaho is strongly fancied to make it three on Boxing Day.

The nine-year-old has been heavily backed over the past week, but is still available at odds of 7/4 on several leading betting apps

Allaho will likely have too much pace for 2022 winner Bravemansgame and he is a banker bet to get your festive punting off to a winning start.

Irish Point is a Stayer with a Future

The Jack de Bromhead Christmas Hurdle at Leopardstown could prove to be a useful pointer to the Stayers’ Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival in March.

Irish Point is among the front-runners in the market for the race and punters will be falling over themselves to use free bets to wager on him next week.

Gordon Elliott’s charge was an impressive winner at Down Royal in November, but should be seen to even better effect now he steps up in trip.

Corbetts Cross Can Floor His Rivals

Several promising steeplechasers will line-up in the Neville Hotels Novice Chase at Leopardstown and the form should be well worth following as the season progresses.

Flooring Porter has been widely tipped to run a big race now he runs on a left-handed track, but he could have his work cut out against Corbetts Cross.

The six-year-old was a brilliant winner at Fairyhouse earlier this month and can take this prize on his way to bigger things later in the campaign.
