The Playoffs
The Euro 2024 playoffs is a final chance for teams to qualify for the tournament this summer.
The playoffs take place on 21st and 26th March. There are 12 teams divided into three groups, or ‘paths’. Each path is a knockout format, The winner of each path will qualify for the main Euro 2024 tournament.
In summary, if a country wins both of their playoff games, they qualify for Euro 2024.
Here are the playoff fixtures:
21st March: Semi-finals
- Path A: Poland vs Estonia, Wales vs Finland
- Path B: Israel vs Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina vs Ukraine
- Path C: Georgia vs Luxembourg, Greece vs Kazakhstan
26th March: Finals
- Path A: Wales/Finland vs Poland/Estonia
- Path B: Bosnia and Herzegovina/Ukraine vs Israel/Iceland
- Path C: Georgia/Luxembourg vs Greece/Kazakhstan
Euro 2024 Tournament
The Euro 2024 tournament schedule takes place from 14th June – 14th July in Germany, across multiple cities with the final in Berlin.
Six groups begin the tournament, with four countries per group. Each team plays each other once within the group, which means three group games per country. The top two teams from each group progress to the round of 16, along with the four best-performing third-place teams.
There is one game on the opening night, followed by two to three games per day throughout the group stages, then four games per day on 25th – 26th June. All kick-offs are at 15:00, 18:00 or 21:00 (CEST).
From the round of 16 onwards, Euro 2024 becomes a knockout competition. There are a maximum of two games per day with kick-off times at 18:00 and 21:00 (CEST).
The Euro 2024 final will be held in Berlin with a 21:00 kick-off time to crown the overall winners of the competition.
