Monday marks the start of a new week and a clean slate for punters, and with events to peruse at Ayr, Plumpton and Wolverhampton, there is plenty of potential for profit in the markets. Yesterday, our three selections delivered another two winners thanks to Tounsivator (Naas) and Mighty Moth (Hereford), and with our hot streak showing no signs of cooling down, we’ve picked out some more horse racing tips for today’s action below.
Best Tip #1: Travail D’Orfevre – Ayr 2.05
Travail D’Orfevre is a consistent character who has been holding strong form this season and with finishes in first, second, second and second again in his last four outings, the platform for success has been built.
The 8-year-old landed his most recent runner-up position at Ayr on February 13th and he should have solid claims off the same mark on his return to the track today.
Elsewhere, other horse racing betting sites in the UK have been seeing movement on Jolly Nellerie, who is representing Venetia Williams’ stable in the first race at Ayr.
The 5-year-old has won over hurdles in France, though reproducing that form on British soli has been tough so far. Nevertheless, a new trip and a first time with headgear could combine to make him an interesting runner off a reduced mark.

Best Tip #2: Sublime Heights – Plumpton 3.20
Sublime Heights rediscovered some form to finish second over C&D just four weeks ago and the gelding, who is trained by Toby Lawes, should go close again today off the same mark. The 8-year-old has three course wins at Plumpton, including this exact race 12 months ago.
His last run to second on January 29th was also achieved on good to soft ground at Plumpton, and the same conditions and trip should suit again.
Alternatives include Everything’sontick, who has the potential to mix it despite finishing down in 7th spot at Leicester last month. A win at Leicester and a solid run to 3rd at Cheltenham preceded that effort and with the cheekpieces off, he could race with more freedom here.
Gerico Ville has been backed in to a tighter price in the ante-post betting and should also be respected.

Best Roughie: Sounds of Spring – Wolverhampton 7.30
Sounds of Spring has been knocking on the door in Ireland and he was in the frame in two of his last four runs before the turn of the year.
He hasn’t seen action in 131 days, however, he is running off a dangerous mark today and he is of interest to threaten from an outside price for his new yard. A slight step back in trip from 6f to 5f might also be to his advantage.
Darlo Pride has been turning heads on other betting apps and the progressive 4-year-old, who won at Wolverhampton on February 12th in a Class 6 Handicap event to bring his tally up to four victories on AW since September, is well treated and is a major contender.
With buckets of track experience to draw from, Darlo Pride could be the one for Sounds of Spring – and everyone else – to beat.

Stats and Insights
- Ayr is a left-handed circuit with spacey bends and it tends to suit the speedier types. A lengthy enough downhill sprint near the end of the track quickly switches to an incline right before the post, and horses with fast feet can often excel. Trainers Keith Dalgleish and Nicky Richards have enjoyed a great deal of success there in recent campaigns.
- Horses with pace and agility are often best-placed to deliver the goods at Plumpton. The track is marked by sharp turns and six tricky fences, so quick reactions and nimble turners can make their mark there. There is also an uphill finish to navigate in both the hurdle and chase events.
- Wolverhampton runs over a Tapeta surface and the track there is nicely level throughout its one-mile circuit. Wolverhampton is one of the few tracks around with left-handed bends, so horses with previous experience there can sometimes handle them better.
