The Doncaster Cup is held on the third day of the St Leger Festival and the first horse who to win the Stayers’ Triple Crown was Stradivarius.
The most successful jockey in the race is Joe Mercer OBE, he won the race 8 times between 1953 to 1980. The legendary trainer Henry Cecil won the race 7 time and he is the joint leading trainer in the race with Cecil Boyd-Rochfort who trained his first winner in 1934.
