The Scottish Grand National is simply the most valuable and most prestigious jumps race in Scotland which attracts a sell-out crowd to the track every April and is also the fourth biggest race in the UK in terms of betting turnover.
Several horses have won this race and gone on to win the English Grand National at Aintree. The first horse to do that was Music Hall, the only horse to win both race in the same year was the legend Red Rum.
