Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 31/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Meetings in the UK at Bath, Chelmsford, Newcastle, Southwell and Stratford combine to fill up Thursday’s race card and with events to pore over on English soil, the potential to dig out some profit is high again. Ahead of the action, we’ve done our usual bout of analysis and research to bring you three expertly chosen horse racing betting tips. Read them below.

Best Tip #1Albus Anne – Bath, 15:28

Albus Anne tends to save her best work for her outings at Bath and the 5-year-old managed to beat all on each of her last two visits to this trick. Both victories were secured over distances of 1m in Class 6 Handicap events and more success is anticipated on familiar territory here.

Albus Anne is still keenly priced on horse racing betting sites in the UK despite being favourite, so move fast.

Elsewhere, Ciotog could mount a challenge for DM Loughnane. The 6-year-old delivered the goods at Bath when last seen ten days ago a similar race to today’s and still well treated by the handicappers, he should have a decent shot at following up.

Darvel, who was a winner at Bath in April over a 1m trip, could also be in the frame.

Best Tip #2: Harrys Hope – Stratford, 15:35

Ben Pauling brings his hattrick-chaser Harrys Hope to Stratford today in search of more glory and the 6-year-old gets the nod to maintain his upward surge.

The in-form charge has yet to lose over fences and despite incurring a 6lb rise following his back-to-back wins at Southwell and Exeter earlier this month, Harrys Hope could be the one to hitch your wagon to again.

Cooleenymore could muddy the waters a little, however. The 8-year-old seems to have found something extra this year and signed off for the summer on the back of a run of 1-2-1 from three races, posting wins over 3m at Exeter and 3m 2f at Hereford during that uptick.

Today will be just her third chase start, though she can still make an impact, despite the lengthy break between runs.

Best Roughie: A Day To Dream – Newcastle, 15:15

A Day To Dream looks like a more comfortable hurdler and though his flat races have offered little promise, he has placed in three of his last four starts over jumps.

A run to third place at Sedgefield last time out was a solid enough display in a race that featured two of today’s more fancied horses, so this 4-year-old is shaping up like a decent each-way prospect at good odds on the best betting apps.

Grifter meanwhile, might suit safer bettors a little better. The 5-year-old has been knocking on the door since the summer and finished third at Bangor and second at Perth on his last two appearances in September.

He is sound in Class 5 company and has what it takes to mount a serious bid at Newcastle today.

Stats and Insights

  • There is an uphill final flourish to conquer at Bath and horses with extra galloping power can often gain ground towards the end. Trainers Tony Carroll, Clive Cox, Adrian Wintle, Eve Johnson Houghton and Rod Millman all have good recent records at Bath.
  • Speedier types and more agile horses tend to have the better of it at Stratford due to the tightness of the turns at the course. Trainers Dan Skelton, Fergal O’Brien and Gary Hanmer have all posted 20 or more wins at Stratford over the last five seasons.
  • The All-Weather track at Newcastle is a fair setting, though it’s another one for the gallopers and contains a straight mile section. With 76 wins, Richard Fahey has been the most dominant trainer at Newcastle in recent seasons.
