Two of our selections placed yesterday in another solid tipping result and Wednesday’s racing cards could prove just as bountiful. There are events at Exeter, Kempton, Leicester and Dundalk across the UK and Ireland to delve into and we’ve assembled a selection of free tips for your punting pleasure below. We’ve made it our mission to be one of the best sites for horse racing around, so our predictions are always researched and reasoned with expertise.

Best Tip #1: Golden Days – Dundalk 4.05

Golden Days finished third on each of her last two runs at Dundalk, both of which were in November last year, though all of her three career wins to date have come over 7f and she is taken to recapture that form here.

Golden Days finished third out of 14 behind today’s rival River Derwent over the same course last year, however, she has the potential to reverse the finishing order this time around.

Chica Power, meanwhile, was victorious in a claimer over C&D in October and is consistent enough to push today while Jalo could also be worthy of attention have won at Dundalk in September last year over 6f.

Eighty Eight is another with experience at this track and having sunk to an attractive mark, could be an each way option. Tynamite, who is worth pricing on the best betting apps UK, nipped in to win over 7f at Dundalk on December 20th and shouldn’t be completely discounted.

Best Tip #2:  Luna Effect – Kempton 5.00

Luna Effect finished a determined second at Newcastle (1m 3f) on January 17th, though he is taken to go one better at Kempton today in new headgear.

Coming off the same mark as each of his last three runs (2nd, 2nd, 3rd), Luna Effect could find improvement with cheek pieces on and he has already shown that he can mix it with race favourites. Luna Effect could find the slightly shorter distance of 1m 2f more to his liking at Kempton.

Threat comes in the form of Uzincso, who finished third over a mile at Kempton just a week ago and deserves respect off the same mark, though the step up in track length could be enough to see him off.

Charlie’s Choice broke his career duck at Wolverhampton on January 7th, though the 4lb increase he carries today could have an impact. Luna Effect, who has placed in four of his last ten starts, could be the one here, however.

Best Roughie: Passing Kate – Leicester 4.25

Passing Kate has been much improved this season, winning at Leicester in November before finishing in an impressive second spot from a strong field of nine over 9m4f in a Class 5 Handicap at Ffos Las in December.

With a favourable price to work with, she could give the favourites something to ponder. Passing Kate held well on heavy ground in her last run at Leicester with a soft surface expected today, the potential to perform is there in spades.

Competition looks stiff with Lady Balko and Jo Lescribaa among those expected to surge. Lady Balko was a winner of a point-to-point at 3m before and she finished fourth on her handicap debut at Leicester over 2m three weeks ago.

Jo Lescribaa has been holding sway in the markets and could enjoy the extra distance today (2m 4f) having hit third spot at Leicester on January 10th over 2m.

Stats and Insights

  • Alterations to the home straight in 2013 has made Dundalk a much fairer course to finish and the track has a reputation for producing close run things. The course is a left-handed, flat enough sweep over a Polytrack surface. That surface can sometimes favour British horses with experience from running on Polytrack in the UK.
  • Kempton tends to suit the quicker horses rather than the ones blessed with stamina due to the very flat nature of the one mile five furlong track. The circuit is right-handed, so most of the horses that feature in races there will feel comfortable. Rapid runners are definitely the ones to watch with most interest.
  • Leicester features a right-handed oval circuit that covers approximately a mile and 6 furlongs. Look for horses with stamina and staying power here as the ground can test over the undulating track. Fences can be tricky at Leicester and powerful jumpers can often enjoy the most success.
