Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 30/11

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Saturday’s race card is a little lighter than usual with just four meetings across the UK and Ireland at Doncaster, Newbury, Newcastle and Fairyhouse to pick through. Yesterday, two of our three selections placed, including our 11/1 long shot, Susiesparkle, at Musselburgh, however, we’re targeting winners today and to that end, we’ve compiled our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: Ballygunner Castle – Fairyhouse, 13:20

Ballgunner Castle didn’t take long to rise to the top in the spring, following up a run to third at Thurles in February with successive wins at Limerick and Tipperary in April and May thereafter.

Willie Mullins’s dam sister to Yorkhill makes her hurdling debut here at Fairyhouse after a 199-day layoff, though with Paul Townend in control, she should have excellent credentials.

A Dream To Share meanwhile, remains the market favourite on horse racing betting sites. The five-timer bumper winner knows how to produce on the big occasion having delivered the goods at the Cheltenham Champion Bumper and Punchestown equivalent already, and despite seeing no action in 301 days, John E & Kiely will expect big things from their top performer here.

Best Tip #2: I’m Ravenous – Doncaster, 12:17

I’m Ravenous has shown plenty of promise over hurdles since returning to the track October and a hattrick-sealing win at Doncaster could be in the works for Ben Pauling’s improver today.

The 6-year-old made all to win at Sedgefield and Warwick in his last two outings and both of those events were against Class 4 company. Jockey Callum Pritchard brings a 7lb claimer to the party today too, so there is plenty to like about I’m Ravenous’s chances.

For an alternative, look to Roger Pol who arrives on the back of a fine with at Southwell over a trip of 2m 4f.

A summer wind operation seems to have brought Jamie Snowden’s charge on and though he has incurred a 5lb rise since his last win, jockey Joe Anderson shaves 3lb of that off with his claimer, making Roger Pol are more than useful prospect overall.

Best Roughie: Take No Chances – Newcastle, 14:10

Today’s fifth race at Newcastle is a Grade 1 Class 1 affair, so competition should be stiff, however, Dan Skelton’s Take No Chances catches the eye at an unusually sky-high price on betting apps.

The 6-year-old has a record of 1-1-4-3-1 from his last five races and won a Class 1 Listed Hurdle test at Wetherby when last seen. Today’s challenge it tougher, however, solid each-way claims are there to be had.

Elsewhere, Sir Gino looks ready to set the bar for Nicky Henderson’s stable. The 4-year-old made it four wins from four when beating all to win at Aintree in a Class 1 Grade 1 Hurdle race in April on his last outing and his yard has won this renewal a whopping eight times in the past.

As long as there aren’t too many cobwebs to blow off after a long layoff, Sir Gino should be right in the mix.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Fairyhouse isn’t considered too testing overall, however, there is a slight uphill finish to conquer, so extra stamina can come in useful. Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott have been the two most successful trainers here over the last five seasons by a distance.
  • Doncaster is a pear-shaped, undulating course, though few horses experience bad luck stories there. Look for horses trained by Nicky Henderson, Alan King, Donald McCain, Fergal O’Brien and Paul Nicholls.
  • The track at Newcastle features an uphill burst at the last and that can put extra pressure on a horse’s stamina. Donald McCain, Rebecca Menzies, Lucinda Russell, Micky Hammond and Ben Haslam are the trainers to follow closely here.
