Wednesday’s race card is made up of events at Fakenham, Kempton, Newton Abbot, Nottingham and Dundalk across the UK and Ireland, giving punters plenty to sink their teeth into in midweek. Ahead of the entertainment, we’ve been busy poring over formbooks and markets to find three free horse racing betting tips for the day’s action. Check them out below.
Best Tip #1: Instant Gambler – Fakenham, 14:20
Instant Gambler has been a sensation over fences since returning to action in August and his latest win at Fontwell last week was his fourth triumph in a row in this sphere.
That triumph, which was over a trip of 3m 2f, was achieved in some style and though he has been pushed up another 7lb in the ratings, this red-hot 8-year-old is easily the one to back on betting sites for horse racing again at Fakenham.
Awesome Foursome meanwhile, looks decently positioned to provide some opposition.
The previous bumper winner hasn’t seen action since the summer, though he signed off with a record of 2-3-3-2-5 before a break and has the potential to make an impact here, especially as an each-way prospect ahead of some uninspiring competitors.

Best Tip #2: Grey’s Monument – Nottingham, 14:08
Grey’s Monument was an impressive winner in a career-best showing at Ascot over 7f in September and followed that up straight away with another win in a Listed race at Redcar over the same distance early this month.
Ralph Beckett’s charge moves up in distance to 1m today, though he has leading claims again based on recent form and earns our nod to complete a hattrick.
Stablemate Qirat could be the biggest threat to Grey’s Monument’s treble attempt.
Twice at winner at Goodwood earlier this year, the 3-year-old caught the eye when pushing to second place at Ascot in early October in a Class 2 Handicap and though he will need to up his game here, he should be thereabouts. Interestingly, Rossa Ryan has selected to ride Grey’s Monument ahead of Qirat.

Best Roughie: Thunderous Love – Kempton, 19:30
Thunderous Love earns our interest at a big starting price on the best betting apps at Kempton this evening.
The 3-year-old was competitive at Brighton when finishing second on the south coast in a Class 6 Apprentice Handicap last month and though he dropped back to fifth at Windsor when last seen, the heavy ground was a factor that and a step-up could be on the cards today.
Elsewhere, Diamondsinthesand is expected to be a prominent feature. His last win came at Ffos Las in August, though he managed to finish second three times in a row in subsequent outings and the 7-year-old is very comfortable over this trip.
Blue Collar Lad, who was 2-1-2 in his last three runs also comes equipped with solid claims in what promises to be an open event.

Stats and Insights
- With tricky, sharp turns to negotiate, Fakenham is a track for speedier types and able front runners. Trainers Lucy Wadham, Olly Murphy, Stuart Edmunds, Dr Richard Newland and Dan Skelton have all enjoyed double-figure wins at Fakenham over the last five seasons.
- The course at Nottingham is nicely flat and shorter races there have a slight draw bias towards higher numbers. Michael Appleby, Ralph Beckett, William Haggas, Roger Varian and KR Burke are the trainers to look out for at Nottingham.
- Kempton is an All-Weather course and though the circuit itself is a little tight, it’s a largely fair setting overall. With 90 wins over the last five seasons, Andrew Balding has been the trainer to beat at Kempton in recent years.
