Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 30/03

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

We’ve finally hit the weekend and Saturday’s kicks us off with a jam-packed day of racing across the UK and Ireland with events at Carlisle, Haydock, Musselburgh, Wolverhampton, Cork and Fairyhouse to analyse. Yesterday, our trio of selections returned a winner and a placed horse thanks to Cephalus (Lingfield) and Hooking’s (Newcastle) efforts. Let’s aim for another successful outing today and to that end, you can find our latest free horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: National Lady – Cork, 1.15

National Lady finished third in a similar race at Naas last year in a high-class run that featured plenty of horses that went on to become winners.

Running out of Ger Lyons’ successful stable, the 3-year-old has a little bit to prove, especially with an odds-on price, though the potential to perform is there and she is taken to score in the first race at Cork.

Opposition could come in the form of Lavender Haze. She returned to action with a decent fourth-place effort at Naas six days ago and with the cobwebs blown off, she could be in contention here.

Elsewhere, Trainer Miss J Harrington has two horses in today’s race, though Dakota Girl is the more fancied of the two and might be worth a market check on horse racing betting sites.

Best Tip #2: Comfort Zone – Fairyhouse, 5.05

Several big stables go head-to-head at Fairyhouse this evening, though JP O’Brien’s Comfort Zone could be the one to back.

The 5-year-old has been away since September, though a record of 1-3-1-1-2 from his last five races makes for formidable reading. An opening mark of 132 might be on the lenient side and he could return with a bang here.

Risk Belle has been backed into favouritism in the ante-post markets and WP Mullins will expect his entry to do him proud. Unsuited by the ponderous pace at Cheltenham last month, he has a previous win at Fairyhouse (December) to look back on and jockey AP Kelly brings a 5lb claimer to the saddle.

Former Leopardstown winner, One Last Tango, could be another to watch with cheekpieces on for the first time.

Best Roughie: Shoeshine Boy – Haydock, 2.40

Plenty of horses with interesting prices on sports betting apps catch the eye in an open-looking third race at Haydock, though preference is for Shoeshine Boy in the Class 2 event.

He has reacted well to a tongue-strap and enjoyed wins on soft ground at Ayr and Kelso since February. A 3lb increase is there to consider and competition is stiffer, however, the 8-year-old could take some stopping.

Jonjo O’Neill’s Judicial Law is also shaping up like a potential winner. He has the cheekpieces back on today and he has a record of 3-1-2 with those on last Autumn.

O’Neill has a good record in this race, so don’t be surprised if Judicial Law makes a major impact. Astronomic View, a winner at Warwick last time out, is also worthy of respect despite an 8lb rise.

Stats and Insights

  • Cork is a nicely fair and flat track which offers chances to most types in the comfortable setting. Trainer WP Mullins already has eight winners at Cork this season, while jockey Paul Townend has 33% win rate at the track this term.
  • There is a three-furlong incline to conquer in the home straight at Fairyhouse and while the circuit isn’t too taxing overall, stamina is still required. Again, WP Mullins is the trainer to track at Fairyhouse, though Gordon Elliott has also enjoyed plenty of success there this season.
  • With gentle undulations and nice straights to motor down, Haydock can make for a fair ride, however, the weather plays a big part there so it’s always wise to be abreast of conditions. Sean Flanagan has yet to lose at Haydock this term, though the jockey has raced only twice there. Trainer Nicky Richards has claimed victory in three out of seven races at Haydock so far.
