Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 29/11

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

There are five meetings across the UK and Ireland at Doncaster, Musselburgh, Newbury, Dundalk and Thurles listed on Friday’s race card, giving us plenty of potentially profitable avenues to explore before the weekend.

Yesterday, all three of our picks ended up being non-runners, so let’s hope our latest set of horse racing betting tips is a little more fortunate.

Best Tip #1: Kick Up A Storm – Doncaster, 11:55

We start at Doncaster, where Kick Up A Storm is backed to beat all in the day’s first race. The 6-year-old has raced twice since the summer and claimed the spoils on each occasion at Wincanton and Exeter.

He has shown decent versatility to win over distances of 3m 1f and 2m 7f, while his last success was achieved against Class 4 company. He carries a penalty today but should still be the one to beat.

Elsewhere, Rivers Corner could be an alternative to consider, albeit at a bigger price on the best betting sites for horse racing.

Anthony Charlton’s charge hasn’t been seen since April, though he signed off with a good record of 4-1-1-3-2 in the spring, with Handicap Hurdle wins at Wincanton and Taunton the pick outs. Rivers Corner competes off a tricky mark today but can still have an impact.

Best Tip #2: Delias Pet – Thurles, 14:45

Delias Pet has been a busy racer over the last two months, though her record has been more than solid and she followed up successive wins at Fairyhouse and Gowran Park in November with strong runs to third at Punchestown and Thurles later this month.

The Timothy Doyle-trained mare is a consistent sort and looks to have strong credentials on her return for a second bash at Thurles.

Gordon Elliott’s Fillusin meanwhile, has been the market favourite in the ante-post action, though she will have to improve to justify that favouritism.

The 5-year-old has been in the frame in each of her last four races and landed in second spot at Thurles eight days ago. Today’s trip is shorter, though most expect her to compete again.

Best Roughie: Susiesparkle – Musselburgh, 12:38

Susiesparkle was a reliable performer in the handicapping sphere, so she should be an intriguing prospect on her hurdling debut today, especially at the prices quoted on sports betting apps.

A winner at Thirsk over a distance of 1m 4f in September, Susiesparkle finished second twice in a row after that at Hamilton and Haydock before dropping to 5th at Ayr. Stamina shouldn’t be an issue for his 4-year-old, so watch her with interest.

Wise Eagle should be another major player for Adam Nicol’s stable. A nifty performer on the flat, the 7-year-old has been mixing it in Class 1 and 2 company for most of this year, so dropping down three grades today should make him a bigger threat.

His last outing over hurdles was all the way back in 2020, so he has something to prove, though his superior class could tell nonetheless.

Stats and Insights

  • Doncaster is a pear-shaped circuit with gentle undulations and few horses have had bad experiences there. Trainers Nicky Henderson, Alan King, Fergal O’Brien, Donald McCain and Paul Nicholls have strong record here.
  • Stamina can be a useful attribute for horses at Thurles due to the track’s final taxing uphill surge. Jockeys Paul Townend and Jack Kennedy both have excellent records at Thurles over the last five seasons.
  • With tight turns and a tight overall setting, more agile horses can often be the ones to back at Musselburgh. During the last five jump seasons, Donald McCain and Lucinda Russell have been the top two trainers in terms of overall wins at Musselburgh.
