Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 29/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Meetings in the UK at Bangor-On-Dee, Catterick, Chepstow and Newcastle combine to fill Tuesday’s race card up and the sniff of profit is undeniably in the air again ahead of another day of action at the track.

Yesterday, we continued our hot streak with another win thanks to Home Free’s success at Ayr, while another of our three selections, Jabbar, placed at Galway. View our latest horse racing betting tips for Tuesday’s schedule below.

Best Tip #1:  Homer Stokes – Catterick, 14:12

Today’s fourth race at Catterick has a few likely contenders, though we can’t look beyond course specialist Homer Stokes for this one.

The 6-year-old was a hot ticket here in the spring winning at Catterick over 7f in two of his three visits to the track and Homer Stokes returned to the same venue earlier this month to win again, beating ten rivals to the punch on that occasion. He is easily the best pick here based on those performances.

Elsewhere, Sir Garfield could be worth a glance on online horse racing betting sites as a possible alternative.

The consistent sort was runner up four times before cracking first place at Ayr on the first of the month and he has incurred just a 2lb rise since, making him an option on an attractive mark. All things going as they should, the 3-year-old should be in the frame again here.

Best Tip #2: It’s Maisey – Bangor-on-Dee, 12:50

It’s Maisey has been a horse transformed since switching to these distances and a trip of 2m 7f in the opening race at Bangor-on-Dee today looks like a great fit again for the reliable 6-year-old.

It’s Maisey finished the winter/spring season with a record of 1-1-2-2-1 from her last five outings and though the handicapper is alive to her progress, she is taken to return with a bang today.

Pipers Cross meanwhile, was also a consistent performer in spring, counting wins at Chepstow and Huntington among his haul.

Emma Lavelle’s charge has also been away since April, but should find today’s Class 4 company cosy and can mount a strong bid on his comeback. Jalisco Star, who was a winner at Bangor in March, can also be factored into the equation.

Best Roughie: Thor De Cerisy – Chepstow, 15:10

Listed at the joint-highest price on sports betting apps for today’s ColourFence Newport Low Maintenance Fencing Handicap Chase, Thor De Cerisy has more appeal than his position in the market would suggest.

The 10-year-old won back-to-back races at Chepstow earlier this year, the second of which was a Class 3 Novice Chase Handicap of good note. With that form a consideration, Thor De Cerisy is worth a flutter here.

Opening Bid meanwhile, is one of the few candidates with recent races under his belt. The 9-year-old has seen plenty of action since Autumn and managed to score at Exeter over 2m 3f when last seen.

A 4lb rise since that success isn’t anything to worry about and Opening Bid looks ready to mount another charge for trainer Chris Down today.

Stats and Insights

  • Bangor-on-Dee is a setting for speedy types with the tight bends separated by short straights there demanding extra agility. • You should factor in the pronounced undulations and testing conditions at Welsh course Chepstow when selecting horses for the track. Look out for horses trained by Paul Nicholls and Evan Williams at this circuit.
