Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 29/06

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Saturday comes equipped with its usual bevvy of meetings across the UK and Ireland with events at Chester, Doncaster, Lingfield, Newcastle, Newmarket, Windsor and The Curragh making for an action-packed race card. Yesterday, one of our three tips placed, while we delivered yet another winner with another pick thanks to Lou Lou’s Gift’s success at Newmarket. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Mbappe – Lingfield, 20:15

Mbappe returns to the scene of his recent success at Lingfield and having scored there just a couple of weeks ago over the same distance, the 3-year-old could have what it takes to produce a repeat performance here.

The 3-year-old has won twice in three races since stepping up to 7+ for his new connections and though there is a 4lb rise to consider, he is still preferred to the rest.

Buy The Dip is the obvious alternative if Mbappe doesn’t float your boat, however. He arrives on the back of a win at Brighton over 1m and he finished second at the same course over a trip of 7f shortly before that.

He is versatile enough to offer a challenge to Mbappe here and he could be worth a market check on other betting sites for horse racing.

Best Tip #2: Believe In Stars – Windsor, 15:52

Believe In Stars makes his first appearance of the year at Windsor today and Sir Michael Stoute’s talented 5-year-old could be primed to hit the ground running.

He came up trumps in a 1m2f at Lingfield in 2022 and a similar race at Goodwood a year after that, while he also shaped up well to finish second in a Class 2 Handicap at Chelmsford when last seen. There is plenty to like about him here.

Elsewhere, True Courage has been raced often this year and deserves consideration.

Wins at Kempton, Chelmsford and Thirsk since March were all achieved over similar distances and though he has climbed 5lb up in the weights after his positive surge, jockey SD Bown evens things out with his 5lb claimer. A definite player today.

Best Roughie: Red Letter Bray, – The Curragh, 13:45

Red Letter Bray was a winner at 100/1 at The Curragh on his stable debut as recently as May 24th thanks to an unexpected triumph in a Handicap race over 6f.

Running over the same trip at the same venue today, the 4-year-old could be the one to watch closest again, despite the 6lb increase he will have to absorb. The price is right on betting apps again here and Red Letter Bray should be right in the mix.

Apricot Ice meanwhile, takes solid form into today’s race and though the unexposed filly has to prove her worthwhile handicapping for the first time, she is a progressive sort and should compete well off an attractive mark.

Charlisse could also be a name for shortlists, especially with John Velazquez booked for the saddle.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Lingfield is triangular in shape and the turns there can be sharp and tricky to get around as a consequence. Trainers Richard Hannon and William Haggas are usually the ones to look out for during the flat racing season at Lingfield.
  • Windsor is an unusual setting with the circuit there laid out in a figure-of-eight formation. Again, Richard Hannon and William Haggas are among the trainers with the best records over the last five seasons, while Andrew Balding and Ralph Beckett are up there too.
  • The Curragh is a unique track that asks horses to dip deep into their well of stamina due to the taxing uphill finish near the end. Jockeys Colin Keane, Ryan Moore and WJ Lee have enjoyed plenty of success at The Curragh over the last five seasons.
