Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 28/06

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Friday’s race card line up is packed solid with action thanks to meetings at Bangor-On-Dee, Cartmel, Doncaster, Newcastle, Newmarket, Yarmouth and The Curragh. Yesterday, our quest for profit was successful when Mrs Trump placed at Nottingham and Red Force One was a winner at Newmarket off a tipped price of 3/1. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Lou Lou’s Gift – Newmarket, 19:35

Lou Lou’s Gift signed off on the juvenile circuit with a win at Newcastle last November and shaped up well on her handicapping debut on her return to the scene at Kempton at the end of May.

The nicely bred filly runs out of William Haggas’s top yard and she looks wide open to further progression here on her return to turf for the Fizz Cup Classic Handicap.

Other options on the best betting sites for horse racing include Bulldog Drummond, who is a dual winner of 6f on AW.

Promising form also exists over 7f and he looked the part on his bow for his new stable to finish third at Newmarket just six days ago. A repeat performance could put Patrick Owen’s charge in the frame again here.

Best Tip #2: Anif – Yarmouth, 13:45

In-form Anif is chasing down a hattrick of successive wins at Yarmouth today and despite incurring a 6lb rise, we’re backing the veteran to defy the handicappers again.

Michael Herrington’s wily operator won over a trip of 7f last time out, though he showed versatility to win over a longer 1m before that and this switch-up in distance shouldn’t pose an issue.

Some competition could arrive in the form of Love Your Work. The 8-year-old looked better with blinkers on and finished third when last seen at Yarmouth on May 22nd. Running off an unaltered mark today, he could offer an alternative.

United Force is another with a shred of potential, though she might be best watched after a layoff since February.

Best Roughie: Grappa Nonino – The Curragh, 19:15

Trainer Dermot Weld enjoyed successive wins in this renewal just a couple of years ago and his entry today, Grappa Nonino, has the potential to upset the odds in this Stayers Handicap.

The 5-year-old is suited to this kind of distance and finished second at The Curragh when last seen in May. Grappa Nonino has also delivered the goods at this circuit in Kildare before and he could be worth backing off an attractive price again.

Willie Mullins’s pair Scaramanga and Stoke The Fire are both expected to be major players, meanwhile.

Scaramanga has been a favourite on betting apps and with Ryan Moore in the saddle, he could shine on his first appearances in a year. Stoke The Fire has been more readily raced and has already won twice over this distance this year.

Stats and Insights

  • Yarmouth is a largely fair setting, though gallopers tend to enjoy the five-furlong straight at the finish. Trainers William Haggas and the Gosdens have held dominion over Yarmouth over the last five seasons.
  • Considered the home of flat racing in the UK, Newmarket is made famous by The Rowley Mile, a wide section with dips that can test a horse’s balance. Trainers Charlie Appleby, Andrew Balding, William Haggas and the Gosdens are worth watching with interest at Newmarket.
  • The Curragh is a unique setting that demands stamina from competitors racing there. There is a stiff uphill finish to conquer at the end. Jockeys Colin Keane, Ryan Moore and WJ Lee have enjoyed plenty of success at The Curragh over the last five seasons.
