Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 28/04

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Meetings at Bath, Southwell and Wetherby complete the race card line up for Sunday across the UK and with numerous opportunities to explore, the promise of profit is there again. Yesterday, all three of our selections placed, though we’re determined to go one better today. Read our latest free horse racing betting tips for Sunday’s action below.

Best Tip #1:  Gabriae – Bath, 14:50

The third race at Bath has an open feel and Barry Brennan’s Gabriae looks like one contender with strong credentials. She sets the bar with a rating of 65 and the 3-year-old could be open to progression with first-time cheekpieces on today.

She placed at Southwell (2nd) and Wolverhampton (3rd) on her last two outings and can score for the first time here.

Nancy Rose meanwhile, offer some opposition. She finished 7th over 7f at Kempton nearly two weeks ago, but was shaping up well before fading away late in that one.

A return to a sprinting distance should suit and she could be worth a market check on horse racing betting sites. La Verite should be watched with interest having been dropped back in trip by her new yard.

Best Tip #2: My Noble Lord – Wetherby, 17:15

It looks as though My Noble Lord put some serious work in over the winter and he returned to action on April 10th with a superb win at Wolverhampton in a Class 6 Handicap having looked relatively ordinary when closing for business last year.

Michael Bell’s 3-year-old has a 9lb rise to contend with today, though the step up in distance today could release some more potential.

Sun Dancer Girl is another eye-catcher in the last race of the day at Wetherby. She’s only been raced on AW so far, with her best effort coming at Kempton (2nd) in mid-February, however, the switch in surface could suit.

Flowering is another with decent claims after a solid display at Beverley (2nd) three days ago. The 3-year-old had a record of 3-3-3-2 before that.

Best Roughie: Quandary – Southwell, 17:55

Quandary came very close to scoring on each of her last two outings at Southwell and Lingfield and the consistent performer could have each-way potential at the very least on her return to the track.

Indeed, the 4-year-old finished second on each of her last two efforts at Southwell and despite being up another 1lb today, looks like a good catch at a big price.

Wild Tiger has been turning the most heads in the ante-post markets on sports betting apps, meanwhile. Still unexposed the 5-year-old won at Wolverhampton two years ago and wasn’t seen again until a second-placed run at Meydan in February. Cheekpieces will be applied today and he could thereabouts.

David O’Meara’s New Image, who won over 5f at Southwell in March, has possibilities moving up in trip.

Stats and Insights

  • There is an uphill run-in to conquer at Bath and strong gallopers can often finish strongly there as a result. The new season at Bath has only just got underway, though trainer Rod Millman has already scored with two runners there from five races.
  • Wetherby is a fair setting overall and there are long straights on each side to power down, allowing gallopers to build a head of steam. Trainers Dan Skelton, Tom Lacey and Jamie Snowden have enjoyed decent success at Wetherby so far this season.
  • The circuit at Southwell is relatively tight and our tips need to be involved ahead of the final flourish to be in contention, which spans just under a furlong. Trainer Ruth Carr has lodged seven wins from 35 races at Southwell this season, while competitor Tony Carroll has seven wins from 48 efforts so far.
