Wednesday’s line-up features race cards at Bangor-On-Dee, Kempton and Wincanton, giving punters ample opportunity to surf the markets in search of profitable picks. As always, we’ve done much of the heavy lifting for you however, and below, you can read our latest horse racing betting tips ahead of the action on what looks like a wet Wednesday across the UK.
Best Tip #1: Guard The Moon – Bangor-On-Dee 4.20
Guard The Moon was a bumper winner twice on this track back in December in successive Class 5 National Hunt Flat races and the 6-year-old could be the one to beat again on his return to North Wales later on.
Guard The Moon finished third out of ten in a maiden hurdle at Chepstow last month and despite climbing up a grade, he could be difficult to stop when he jumps again at Bangor-On-Dee.
Panhandle Slim meanwhile, who has been gathering interest across other betting sites for horse racing, finished second in a bumper at Bangor-On-Dee before Christmas in another Class 3 event and could be one to watch with a 7lb claimer on top.
Absolute Steel caught the eye when winning off a massive price at Exeter on February 11th, however, a steep penalty could leave him with too much to do today.

Best Tip #2: Man On A Mission – Kempton 8.00
Man On A Mission dropped back in grade and distance to win at Kempton on February 18th and the 5-year-old should be a major player again today despite picking up a 5lb penalty for his triumph.
In his C&D success ten days ago, Man On A Mission saw off the challenge from Holbache with relative comfort and he is taken to beat the same rival around the same circuit today.
Elsewhere, McCauley’s Tavern should also be tracked with interest on sports betting apps. The 4-year-old got off the mark for new connections over C&D in January at Kempton and though he failed to hit those heights in subsequent runouts, he has serious potential to unlock.
The booking of jockey Oisin Murphy should enhance his chances of making a push even further.

Best Roughie: Espoir De Gueye – Wincanton 5.05
Punters might need some convincing to back Espoir De Gueye in the last race at Wincanton, however, the final run of the day there is short on quality and the experienced 10-year-old could defy his big price.
Espoir De Gueye finished third on his first outing in eight months at Warwick in January, though he drops back in trip today and he was a smart mover over today’s distance in his prime.
Espoir De Gueye will have to top odds-on favourite Famous Clermont at Wincanton. The 9-year-old enjoyed strong hunter chase form last season and won at Aintree in his last appearance in April last year.
The soft ground should suit today, and a previous win at Wincanton (Feb 23) should also add another layer of confidence to those choosing to back the C R Barber-trained gelding.

Stats and Insights
- The track at Bangor-On-Dee can best be described as “D-shaped” and the turns there can suit the nimbler steeds. Hurdle events there can be demanding enough and the horses with sound jumping skills are regularly favoured. The weather in Wales can often cause issues and conditions can be tricky.
- Kempton ranks among the flattest courses in the UK and it often suits sprinters as a result. The circuit runs for a mile and five furlongs around a right-handed track and there isn’t any kind of draw bias to factor into your thinking. Stamina isn’t a key attribute here most of the time, so look for those fast runners.
- Horses that jump with confidence can excel at Wincanton and three fences in quick succession on the home straight can text a runner’s ability to time its leaps. There are also some sharp bends to negotiation around the right-handed oval, and front-runners can often keep ahead for the duration.
