Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 26/03

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Tuesday’s race card line up features meetings at Newcastle, Southwell, Taunton and Dundalk on another day of racing action that’s dripping with potential profit. Yesterday, we landed yet another big winner when Stallone delivered the goods at Newcastle from a tipped price of 6/1. We’re already building a head of steam this week, so fingers crossed we can maintain our momentum. View today’s horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: Asinara – Southwell, 6.15

Asinara showed plenty of promise on her first time out when she just missed out on a win at Kempton in a Class 5 run on March 2nd.

The 3-year-old stayed on well to challenge inside the final furlong over a testing ride and that experience could help to propel her to something better at Southwell over a similar trip.

Elsewhere, Mickley is another with solid claims. Fourth and third place finishes at Newcastle and Redcar last year showed progression and he has been gelded since, making him an even more intriguing prospect.

Pentacle’s price has been closing on some of the best horse racing betting sites, and Sean Woods’ charge could be worth a market check closer to time.

Best Tip #2:  Time To Dazzle – Taunton, 2.20

It’s hard to look past Time To Dazzle in the first race at Taunton. Gary Moore’s 6-year-old was a comfortable winner at Fontwell last month and even looked like he had more in the tank on that occasion.

There is an 8lb increase to bear today, however, that shouldn’t be too much of an anchor and Time To Dazzle is taken to succeed again.

Asian Spice is another for your shortlist. She finished her winter programme with back-to-back wins at Exeter in November before taking a break.

Subsequent efforts at Wincanton and Exeter in February were uninspiring, but the conditions didn’t help and she could rediscover her oomph on the good to soft ground at the circuit today.

Best Roughie: Gains of War – Dundalk, 5.30

The 5.30 at Dundalk has plenty of exciting horses involved, however, preference is given to Gains of War, who could threaten from a big price down the field.

The 5-year-old won a similar race over the same distance at Dundalk on his last outing and he has the same jockey, Nathan Crosse, in the saddle today. He is up 6lb after that effort, though that rise isn’t overly concerning.

Clever Currency is the horse gaining the most traction on other betting apps UK, however. He put in a solid effort over fences at Leopardstown before he was beaten at the post and he ran to second again on his last visit to Dundalk in November.

Improvement is expected, however, especially with the 7-year-old back on the flat track. Figurehead is another with track experience who keeps the same mark.

Stats and Insights

  • Southwell is a relatively flat circuit that runs around an oval-shaped mile-long track. With the finish just under a furlong in length, we need our tips to be involved at the front. Trainers KR Burke and Hugo Palmer have had decent success at Southwell this term.
  • Taunton is a compact track with sharp turns, and with a truncated final flourish after the last bend, horses have little time to make up ground towards the end. Jockey Harry Cobden has ten wins from 33 rides at Taunton this season and seems to be a track expert.
  • Dundalk is built upon a Polytrack surface which makes it fair and flat. The home straight has a cutaway rail to keep things neat and that can heighten the chances of close finishes. Trainer JP O’Brien has a 35% strike rate at Dundalk this season, while jockey Hugh Horgan has won 39% of his races there this term.
