Meetings across the UK and Ireland at Doncaster, Newbury, Sandown, Worcester, Yarmouth, Leopardstown and Wexford combine to complete Thursday’s race card and we’ve got some choice horse racing betting tips for the day’s action below. Yesterday, we landed another winner thanks to Godsend’s triumph at Salisbury, so let’s hope for similar fortune today.
Best Tip #1: Gers Gigi – Wexford, 17:00
Gordon Elliott’s Gers Gigi is a mare of real promise and she won over an extended 2m 1f at Downpatrick in mid-June, showcasing her potential in a National Hunt Flat race.
However, as the half-sister to a former hunter chase winner, Gers Gigi has been bred for days like these and she should be a major player on her hurdling debut at Wexford.
Doyen Magic could be another name to weigh up on horse racing betting sites in the UK.
Trained by local Wexford man Paul Nolan, Doyen Magic shaped up well to finish third at Sligo in a maiden hurdle race last month and a repeat of that effort could put him in the frame for an each-way finish at the very least again here.

Best Tip #2: Surpass – Leopardstown, 18:50
Aidan O’Brien’s yard have won 12 renewals of this race (Japan Racing Association Tyros Stakes) since 2008 and Surpass could be the latest charge to do the business for his connections at Leopardstown.
The 2-year-old is unbeaten after two races and his latest victory at Tipperary was achieved in some style over 7f. Today’s race looks more competitive, though Surpass is taken to deliver again.
Elsewhere, JP O’Brien’s Scorthy Champ looks like another horse with decent credentials. The son of Mehmas hit the ground running on his debut to win a C&D maiden race at Leopardstown in May and he looks open to further progression.
Miss J Harrington’s 200,000gns purchase Hotazhell, who was a winner at the Curragh last month, also warrants respect.

Best Roughie: Love Talk – Sandown, 15:15
A step up in distance to 7f should make Love Talk an intriguing prospect in this Listed race at Sandown. Grant Tuer’s 2-year-old was a comfortable winning debutant at Redcar in May before finishing fourth in Chantilly a month later, however, the extended trip today should be right up her alley.
The daughter of Ten Sovereigns is available at a very attractive price on betting apps in the UK and could thrive with her sights lowered.
Flaming Stone meanwhile, has also been drawing plenty of interest elsewhere. The Kingman filly, who was a 425,000gns pick-up as a yearling for Andrew Balding, won well at Newbury at the end of June over 7f and she is expected by many to set the standard again here.
Alla Stella, who has yet to finish outside the first three, could be another challenger if she manages the step back in trip.

Stats and Insights
- The track at Wexford is a sharp circuit and the final run-in around the last bend is only around a furlong, so we like our tips to be among the front runners. Henry De Bromhead has been the most successful trainer at Wexford over the last five seasons, though local Paul Nolan is also worth watching.
- The course at Tipperary is oval-shaped and contains some tight turns. Aidan O’Brien, JS Bolger, Donnach Aidan O’Brien, Ger Lyons and JP O’Brien are the trainers to watch out for when race days at Tipperary come around.
- Sandown is a track for the gallopers and the four-furlong uphill final flourish there can ask questions of a horse’s staying power. Jockeys William Buick, Oisin Murphy and Richar Kingscote are in action today and all three have enjoyed numerous wins at Sandown over the last five campaigns.
