Sunday’s race card is a little lighter than usual, though there are still three potentially profitable events to cover across the UK and Ireland at Exeter, Uttoxeter, Punchestown.
Yesterday, our hot streak continued when we successfully tipped Roadlesstravelled to win at Haydock, while a second of our three predictions, State Man, placed at Punchestown. We’re determined to maintain our winning pace today and to that end, we’ve presented our latest horse racing betting tips below.
Best Tip #1: Fastorslow – Punchestown, 14:25
Fastorslow always seems to excel at Punchestown and the winner of two Gold Cups also won the renewal of this John Durkan Memorial Chase this time last year, beating today’s rival Galopin Des Champs in the process.
Martin Brassil’s gelding was successful in another Grade 1 Chase at this venue in May and can set the standard again against some high-class opponents this afternoon.
Willie Mullins has a quartet of interesting entries in today’s bout, though Fact to File catches our attention ahead of the others and the 7-year-old deserves to be factored into calculations on horse racing betting sites.
The 7-year-old won three out of four races over fences last term and capped the campaign with a sparkling triumph in the Brown Advisory at Cheltenham. Let’s see how he copes with this reduced trip.

Best Tip #2: Below The Radar – Uttoxeter, 14:00
There is plenty to like about Below The Radar ahead of the 6-year-old’s handicapping debut at Uttoxeter. The promising performer completed a hattrick between November 2023 and March this year under rules, climbing up the grades on each occasion.
Today’s 2m 7f distance should be just about ideal, so expect Below The Radar to make another positive impression.
Elsewhere, Curley Finger could provide a decent each-way alternative at a much bigger price. He was nowhere when finishing 10th at Cartmel on his last outing in May, though his record was 1-1-1-3 before that in some tough Class 2 and Class 3 Hurdle Handicap events.
The 7-year-old carries an unfavourable mark today, but has shown a winning habit in the past and could surprise a few.

Best Roughie: Denemethy – Exeter, 13:40
Denemethy hasn’t exactly been consistent over the last year, though there have been enough flashes of quality over the last 12 months to suggest the 6-year-old is overpriced on sports betting apps in today’s Handicap Chase at Exeter.
Fergal O’Brien’s charge won a maiden hurdle in cosy style at Wincanton in March and the switch to fences and move back up in distance could bring the best out of of this outsider again here.
Lord Of Thunder is the early favourite and demands plenty of respect, however. A winner of two novice hurdles at Wincanton in December 23 and January this year, the 6-year-old fell on his first outing of the new season at Cheltenham, but looked confident when on that occasion and if he stays up today, a better outcome should follow.

Stats and Insights
- Punchestown is approximately a mile and six furlongs in length for hurdle events and is considered a fair setting overall. Willie Mullins and Gordon Elliott have been the two most successful trainers in jumps races over the last five campaigns at Punchestown.
- The fences at Uttoxeter can be challenging to overcome, so look for the most confident jumpers when selecting horses to back here. Trainers Olly Murphy, Fergal O’Brien and Dan Skelton have all won at least 40 races each at Uttoxeter over the last five seasons.
- Exeter is a large track and features relatively undulations. Conditions there can get testing as the temperature starts to dip. Paul Nicholls has been the top trainer at Exeter in recent seasons while Harry Cobden has been the jockey to beat over the same period.
