Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 24/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Thursday’s race card is a bumper edition with meetings across the UK and Ireland Carlisle, Ludlow, Nottingham, Southwell, Wolverhampton and Clonmel lined up across another hectic day at the track.

Yesterday, we tipped another winner thanks to Instant Gambler’s success at Fontwell, while the other two of our three picks placed, including our 30/1 longshot (Lenebane, Southwell). View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Plaisir Des Flos – Carlisle, 16:05

Plaisir Des Flos was a sensation in the spring and won four Hurdle Handicap races on the spin between March and April at four different venues before applying the brakes for summer.

Fergal O’Brien’s 5-year-old still hasn’t exhausted his potential and return to the handicapping sphere after a break today, the talented charge is the one to back again, despite a 10lb ratings increase.

Dan Skelton’s Mr Hope Street is another name to track closely on the best horse racing betting sites, meanwhile.

The 6-year-old signed off in spring with back-to-back wins at Market Rasen and Uttoxeter in Class 5 Hurdle Handicaps and moving up a grade today, the well-treated contender should be ready to compete. Today’s distance looks ideal, so expect Mr Hope Street to be in the mix.

Best Tip #2: Shecouldbeanything – Clonmel, 16:13

Gordon Elliott brings his 136-rated hurdler Shecouldbeanything to Clonmel today in search of a hattrick sealing triumph.

With five wins under her belt in the niche overall, the 7-year-old looked the part when beating all to win at Listowel and Tipperary in September and October and she had to work hard to win the latter having chased a rival down. Another bold bid is expected from Elliot’s mare here.

Willie Mullins’ Space Tourist is also shaping up like a possible contender. A Listed winner of hurdles last year, Space Tourist has shown flashes of top level stuff this term and followed up a win over 2m 6f in Tramore with a run to second as an odds-on favourite at Sligo three weeks ago.

With Paul Townend retained today, Space Tourist has serious credentials again.

Best Roughie: Till It Shines – Wolverhampton, 20:15

Till It Shines announced himself with a solid run to third place over 6f at Bath in April and though he hasn’t kicked on as expected since, he looks like a good each-way prospect on sports betting apps against a weak-looking field in the last race of the day at Wolverhampton.

He finished third at this track just 17 days ago and a similar performance could land some profit here.

Elsewhere, Global Warning, who was a winner at Lingfield over a 7f trip when last seen, could be worth a look.

A previous winner over C&D on two previous occasions, the 8-year-old has been inched up just 2lb since his success in Northern Ireland and competing off an attractive mark, Global Warning could have what it takes to mount another charge for glory.

Stats and Insights

  • The turns at Carlisle are gentle enough, though there is a long incline to the finishing post at the end, so some extra stamina can come in handy. Jockeys Donald McCain and Nicky Richards have been the two most successful trainers at Carlisle over the last five seasons.
  • Clonmel is another course with an uphill finish, so horses with extra running power in their legs can often be the ones to stick with in Ireland’s County Tipperary. Trainers Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliott and Henry De Bromhead have all had decent success at Clonmel over the last five campaigns.
  • Built on an All-Weather Tapeta surface, Wolverhampton is flat and fair, though previous experience is a plus there due to the circuit’s unusual left-handed bends. Trainers Tony Carroll, Mark Loughnane, Michael Appleby, David Evans and George Boughey are the names to look out for at Wolverhampton.
