Wednesday’s race card line up features meetings at Catterick, Leicester, Lingfield, Salisbury, Naas and Wexford across the UK and Ireland, and if the weather holds, punters should have plenty of excellent prospects to back. Yesterday, one of our three horses placed, while our long shot (Qassid – Ballinrobe) was unseated when leading. Let’s hope Lady Luck turns her head in our direction today. Best Tip #1: Godsend – Salisbury, 20:40
Godsend gets the nod in the last race of the day at Salisbury. The unexposed 3-year-old finished 3/4 of a length behind the winner at Ffos Las last week, though his penultimate start was successful at Ripon.
The increased distance today and the addition of cheekpieces should boost Godsend’s chances today and Sir Mark Prescott’s prolific midsummer stable could profit again.
Fair Dinkum, who is keenly priced on horse racing betting sites, also deserves to be factored into your thinking. Wind surgery seems to have done the job for the 4-year-od, who looked the part when winning at Lingfield in late June.
Returning to turf shouldn’t be an issue for this versatile type and he should be thereabouts once again.

Best Tip #2: Chicago Gal – Leicester, 18:45
The Easterby’s Chicago Gal takes excellent flat form into today’s Newton LDP Fillies’ at Leicester. A hurdling winner in May, the 5-year-old has taken to the flat track in formidable style, finishing second at Leicester in June before going one better at Beverley just two days ago.
She moves up in grade and slightly back in trip today, though her form makes her worth backing again.
Edna E Mode could be worth considering as an alternative for punters looking for a bigger price. Stuart Edmunds’s recent 20,000gns purchase debuts for her new stable today having made the frame in three novice/maiden races for her previous connections.
Rock N Roll Pinkie could also come into contention if she can handle a career-high mark.

Best Roughie: Little Queenie – Naas, 18:20
Paul Flynn’s Little Queenie enjoyed success at Dundalk when last seen on June 12th, winning ahead of a competitive field to land her first win of 2024.
The mare finished either first or second in three of her last four races overall and despite running off a career-high mark, she has credentials as a big-price option on betting apps for today’s Listed Yeomanstown Stud Irish EBF Stakes event.
Elsewhere, progressive handicapper Nighteyes looks like another major contender for David O’Meara.
Wins at Chester and Haydock in May and June respectively were secured with room to spare, while her run to third at Sandown in a Listed race last month was another solid performance. Returning to 6f today should suit and the 3-year-old warrants plenty of success.
