Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 24/04

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Wednesday’s race card bonanza features meetings across the UK and Ireland at Catterick, Ludlow, Perth, Taunton, Uttoxeter, Bellewstown and Gowran Park, and with seven events to analyse, the potential to find profit is high. Yesterday, we landed another winner when Not Negotiable eased to victory at Tipperary, so let’s hope for more of the same today. Check out our tip horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: Vince L’Amour – Catterick, 15:17

Vince L’Amour returned with a solid third place at Catterick over C&D on April 3rd, but then exploded to prominence at Ripon shortly after, riding well clear to score over 7f in a Class 4 Handicap.

That excellent showing was difficult to ignore and even though he carries a 6lb penalty today he should be the one to beat on his return to Catterick, provided the gap between outings isn’t too narrow.

Other betting sites for horse racing have thrust forward Law of Average as another possible candidate. The 3-year-old returned to action with a close push to second at Lingfield on April 5th and on that evidence, he should go close today.

Mayola might also be in the mix, provided the early pace isn’t too hot for Miss Lucinda V Russell’s charge.

Best Tip #2: Giulietta – Ludlow, 15:35

Giulietta is yet to score over hurdles for Dan Skelton, though she came close again at Taunton (3rd) last month and could be about to make the final step at Ludlow today.

The seven-year-old moves slightly back in distance which could help, while the 1lb increase is nothing to worry about. Another shot at a Class 5 race seems like the right move for Skelton and Giulietta is worth your time here.

Competition could arrive in the form of Of Course You Can. She placed in two decent bumpers in 2023 and she landed third spot at Ludlow in a Class 4 Novice Hurdle at the beginning of April. Further progression is anticipated, so she could go close.

Emma Hamilton meanwhile, who competed well against Giulietta at Taunton last month, could be another for shortlists.

Best Roughie: Herculaneuem – Bellewstown, 17:20

Herculaneum showed great ability in the Autumn in three successive runs at Thurles, sandwiching a win in between two runners-up spots in Tipperary and the 7-year-old should be right in contention on his return to action today.

Jockey Oran McGill will bring a 7lb claim to the table and Herculaneum could be tough to stop if he can start well at the tight track at Bellewstown.

Elsewhere, Gavin Cromwell’s Club Manager also catches the eye. A modest performer on flat, however, he has shown promise over timber and the 4-year-old could release some potential if jumps are cleaner today.

Wrecking Ball Paul could be another with credentials on his return to hurdling. He won the Kilbeggan handicap last summer and can threaten again if previous form is recaptured. The 6-year-old deserves a market check on sports betting apps.

Stats and Insights

  • Catterick routinely rewards previous winners, so look out for horses who’ve already tasted success at the track when assessing your options. Training duo Michael and David Easterby have already posted two victories at Catterick with the season there still in its infancy.
  • Ludlow tends to suit the gallopers for the most part, though a good amount of agility is also needed to get around the sharp bends on the chase circuit. Jockey Toby McCain-Mitchell has a 75%-win rate at Catterick this season while trainer Emma Lavella has won with four of her 11 entries at the track.
  • The jumps course at Bellewstown can often be run over a fast surface due to the height of the setting. Bends are sharp enough there, but not tight enough to impact momentum too much. Trainer Thomas Gibney has two wins from five races at Bellewstown this term while jockey Colin Keane has six victories from 22 rides there.
