Royal Ascot still holds centre stage on Saturday, though other meetings at Ayr, Haydock, Lingfield, Newmarket, Redcar, Down Royal and Limerick across the UK and Ireland provide an excellent support act. Yesterday, two of our three selections placed, though we’re determined to land more winners today and you can check out our latest horse racing betting tips below.
Best Tip #1: London City – Limerick, 16:05
Aidan O’Brien’s London City, who is Justify’s colt, got off the mark to score at Dundalk over 1m 3f in April and followed that up with another triumph just a month later at York.
In red-hot form, the 3-year-old could be ready to push for a hattrick at Limerick, despite his mark rising to 102. Moving up a couple of grades could also bring the best out of O’Brien’s talented charge.
Harbour Wind is listed as the ante-post favourite, however, he hasn’t had a race since last September, and other options are preferred.
Sunchart could be another name for your shortlist. He was below par in a listed event at Leopardstown (6th) in May but won at Naas before that and if that performance can be replicated, he could be a contender.

Best Tip #2: Glor Tire – Down Royal, 15:55
JS Bolger’s Glor Tire has been a regular winner since Spring and has scored in four of his last five races since May 8th. Three of those victories were nailed at Gowran Park over 1m 1f, while a handicap triumph at Leopardstown on June 6th was another impressive showing.
A hefty penalty has been applied ahead of today’s race, though jockey Gabriella Hill’s 10lb claimer washes much of that away and Glor Tire is taken to deliver again.
Aidan O’Brien’s Psalm is expected by many to set the standard and at the time of writing the 3-year-old is the horse with the shortest price on sports betting apps. He’s been in action just twice since the turn of the year, finishing second on each occasion over 1m 2f at Cork.
Elsewhere, Miss J Harrington’s Going Remote, who finished second in each of his last two tests, could have credentials.

Best Roughie: Palace Green – Royal Ascot, 17:40
Palace Green lived up to his billing to win at Kempton on April 1st in a Class 5 race and looked even better in a Class 3 challenge to finish third at York in mid-May.
The 3-year-old ran out of gas a little in that 1m 4f run, so a return to 1m 2f could suit better. With Oisin Murphy booked for the saddle, Palace Green could make an impact at an attractive price.
Harry Charlton’s Hand Of God meanwhile, has been dominating most of the ante-post movement on Royal Ascot betting sites.
He signed off with a win at Newmarket at the end of last Autumn and then returned with a bang to win at Sandown over 1m on his return to action in April. He looks built for today’s slightly longer trip and he should be firmly in the mix again.

Stats and Insights
- The track at Limerick finishes with an inclined back straight and a descent around the home bend and that can allow front runners to steal some cheap lengths. Trainers John Harrington, JP O’Brien and Aiden O’Brien have all posted double-figure wins at Limerick over the last five seasons.
- The circuit at Down Royal is a track for the galloping types, though there are some stiff turns to conquer there. Jockeys Colin Keane and WJ Lee are in action at Down Royal today and both riders have tasted success at the course over the last five seasons.
- Horses with previous course experience can often be worth shortlisting at Royal Ascot, due to the unique setting the track provides. Jockeys Ryan Moore, Jim Crowley, Oisin Murphy and William Buick are always worth looking out for at Ascot.
