Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 21/06

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Anchored by Day 4 of the Royal Ascot Festival, Friday’s race card line up is jam-packed with action and there are other meetings at Goodwood, Market Rasen, Newmarket, Redcar and Down Royal to dissect. Yesterday was a veritable profit bonanza and all three of our selections won.

Williamstowndancer did the business at Leopardstown, Run This Way was a winner at Ripon and we also tipped Going The Distance, who won at Royal Ascot off a massive price of 9/1. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Mylesfromwicklow – Market Rasen, 15:55

Dan Skelton’s Mylesfromwicklow won when he was last unleashed at Market Rasen in late March, finishing ahead of three major players in the process.

He also looked the part after that at Uttoxeter, despite finishing second on that occasion at the end of May and suited by today’s faster ground, he should be tough to stop. The 7-year-old could have even more to give following a recent wind operation.

Opposition could come in the form of Whistleinthedark, who runs off a kind mark and is easing down the grades to compete today.

Northern Bound meanwhile, could also be worth a market check on the best betting sites for horse racing. Runs to 2nd at Chepstow and 3rd at Aintree since his return to the track in April could provide a good platform and there is a workable mark there to factor in too.

Best Tip #2: Enchanting – Goodwood, 20:35

AM Balding’s Enchanting is easily the pick of the quartet running in the last race of the day at Goodwood. The 3-year-old won at this circuit over the same distance just seven days ago and she should set the standard in a repeat run here.

There is a 6lb increase to consider, however, William Carver clears away 3lb of that with his claimer, so back Enchanting to triumph again.

Kiss And Run is a versatile type you could pose some questions to Enchanting’s authority, however. Her form has been impressive since April and she scored on her last outing at Windsor in a Class 5 Handicap race just four days ago.

She also landed second spot at Goodwood on May 25th and she has to have a shot today if she can replicate that burst.

Best Roughie: Fairbanks – Royal Ascot, 16:25

Fairbanks was a serious contender last summer when he won a series of turf handicaps over distances in the range of 1m 4f at Goodwood, Leicester and Haydock and he has picked up where he left off since his return to action this year.

A win at Newcastle on May 12th was followed by another solid effort at Hamilton (2nd) on June 2nd and on that kind of form, he has to have a chance today. The booking of Oisin Murphy for the saddle also feels significant.

Willie Mullins’ Ethical Diamond has been at the centre of chatter in Royal Ascot betting circles, however. He was pipped to the post at Leopardstown when last seen in what was a competitive race, though he could kick on today and has major credentials.

Crystal Black meanwhile, is unbeaten this year and though he has something to prove over this trip, he looks like a potential stayer.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Market Rasen is an oval-shaped circuit with sharp turns and more agile horses can often have a more enjoyable experience there. Olly Murphy, Dan Skelton and Fergal O’Brien have been the dominant trainers at Market Rasen over the last five seasons.
  • Goodwood is one of the more unique tracks in the UK in terms of layout, so horses with previous experience there can often have the edge. Andrew Balding, William Haggas and Richard Hannon have been among the most prolific trainers at Goodwood in recent seasons.
  • Previous course experience can often count big at Royal Ascot, so look for horses who have raced there before. Jockeys Ryan Morre, Jim Crowley, Oisin Murphy and William Buick have enjoyed plenty of success at Ascot over the last five seasons and all four are in action today.
