Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 21/05

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Tuesday’s race card selection is packed solid with exciting meetings across the UK and Ireland including events at Brighton, Hexham, Huntingdon, Nottingham, Cork and Punchestown. Yesterday, we landed another winner when Sacred Falls delivered the goods at Carlisle and we’re determined to land some more profit today. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Ohailbhic – Cork, 17:20

Ohailbhic’s route to success was blocked off at Naas ten days ago, though he would almost certainly have improved on his fourth-place finish there had he not been boxed in.

The 3-year-old won over 6f at Dundalk before that in February and today’s drop in trip could make him even more potent. The son of Exceed and Excel is a proven performer on turf and he could prove that again here.

Elsewhere, Kendall Roy could be another name for shortlists. Miss McGivern’s charge has been doing plenty of business on the best horse racing betting sites following a run of three successive wins.

Two of those victories have come since April (Windsor and Thirsk), with both achieved over 5f distances. Kendall Roy is definitely one to watch.

Best Tip #2: Belloccio – Punchestown, 13:55

Belloccio was a €60,000 purchase for Willie Mullins and making his debut for his new stable in Ireland today, the talented 6-year-old could take some stopping.

A 105-rated runner on the level, Belloccio could have too much in his locker for his rivals today and if jumps are managed correctly, then he could storm home. The booking of Paul Townend in the saddle could also make a major difference.

Gordon Elliott’s Bodybuilder is another interesting entrant in the day’s second race at Punchestown. He was bought for £32,500 after winning a British point race and he should have a promising future for Elliott’s prolific stable.

Leabaland, who was a solid performer in flat races over the winter, could feature if the 7-year-old can find extra stamina.

Best Roughie: Krysdanjord – Brighton, 14:50

Darryll Holland’s Krysdanjord could come into the reckoning off a big price at Brighton today. The 3-year-old has raced nine times in Maiden events before and showed up well when seen for the first time this year at Chelmsford last month.

He finished third on that occasion off a reduced mark and if he can use that run as a platform to build on, he could have possibilities today.

Cogsworth meanwhile, has been garnering the most attention on betting apps in the UK. He has been a steady improver over the Spring and finally scored at Chelmsford on May 2nd over a distance of 7f.

He still has something to prove back on turf, however, he should be thereabouts if things develop according to form.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Cork is a fair and level setting for the most part and the majority of types have a chance at winning there. Jockeys WJ Lee, Colin Keane and Shane Foley have all enjoyed plenty of success at Cork over the last five years and all three riders will feature across today’s races in Ireland’s south west.
  • The circuit at Punchestown is a right-handed, undulating run and like Cork, the setting is considered fair, giving most contestants a chance at glory. Jockeys Paul Townend, Mark Walsh and Rachael Blackmore tend to do well at Punchestown and all three will be involved in some capacity today.
  • There is a steep decline to conquer at Brighton, while the track also features some tight bends. that combination tends to suit the speedier types. Darragh Keenen and Hollie Doyle have posted a combined 34 wins at Brighton over the last half a decade and both jockeys will feature there again today.
