Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 20/11

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Wednesday’s race card is another exciting affair with meetings across the UK and Ireland at Ffos Las, Hexham, Kempton, Warwick and Dundalk to keep us warm as the temperature starts to drop.

Yesterday, we delivered yet another winner for our readers when we correctly backed Boomslang to win at Carlisle. We’re determined to maintain our winning streak as we approach the end of the week and to that end, we’ve presented our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: Ira Hayes – Hexham, 13:10

Ira Hayes seems to have cracked the code in recent weeks and the in-form 5-year-old followed up a good bumper win at Wexford in late October with another triumph at Carlisle yesterday, beating all with room to spare on that occasion.

The short turnaround between races should ask a question, however, Ira Hayes gets the nod to maintain her successful surge at a narrow price on the best betting sites for horse racing.

Not So Sobers meanwhile, is another name for your shortlist. A winner at Market Rasen over 2m 1f in May, he returned from his summer off to finish fourth against tougher Class 2 company at Cheltenham on October 26th and should bring some quality to the track for his hurdles debut today. The booking of jockey Brian Hughes is also a positive.

Best Tip #2: Booster Bob – Warwick, 14:10

Booster Bob completed a hattrick around this time last year with a win over a 2m distance at Sandown, beating today’s favourite Helnwein in the process and the 6-year-old could be worth backing to pip the same rival to the spoils today.

Olly Murphy’s charge returned after a break to win a Class 3 Novice Chase Handicap at Ffos Las last month and has risen only 6lb in the ratings since. Expect him to be a major player again.

Elsewhere, Telepathique could be an alternative to consider at a slightly bigger price. She won a bumper here at Warwick in February last year and returns to the course on the verge of lodging a hattrick following back-to-back wins at Southwell and Fakenham.

Today’s race is a stiffer challenge and Telepathique has a 13lb increase to overcome, however, the talent is there.

Best Roughie: Rey De La Batalla – Kempton, 16:30

Rey Da La Batalla is an interesting prospect at a meaty price on sports betting apps for today’s opener at Kempton and the 3-year-old could be worth sneaking on to dockets as an each-way chance.

Rey De La Batalla won successive Class 5 Handicap races a Lingfield and Kempon in the spring and though performances slipped thereafter at higher grades, he could drop back down to shine here. He’s been gelded since his last outing, so expect him to kick on.

Dembe has been earning the most attention in the ante-post market jostling, however. The 6-year-old did the business on his last visit to Kempton in September in what was a similar task to today’s.

Any reimagining of that performance on his return to the same venue today should thrust him right into the frame, while the addition of Sean Bowen as jockey looks like a savvy move.

Stats and Insights

  • There are plenty of undulations to surf at Hexham and with a steep finish chucked in for good measure, horses with extra stamina are the best to back. Trainers Lucinda Russell, Mark Walford and Nicky Richards have been setting the standard at Hexham in recent seasons.
  • The course at Warwick is tight in nature and has a short final push after the last bend. More agile types generally are better suited to the layout there. With 58 wins, Dan Skelton has been the most prolific trainer at Warwick over the last five seasons.
  • The All-Weather track at Kempton is nicely level as all AW circuits tend to be, so there are few hard luck stories there. Trainers Andrew Balding, Charlie Appleby, Roger Varian, John & Thady Gosden and Richard Hannon have all had good records here in recent years.
