Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 19/08

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

A new week brings fresh possibilities and Monday’s race card contains plenty of profitable promise with meetings at Catterick, Windsor, Worcester and Yarmouth to pick though. Yesterday, we delivered yet another winner thanks to Parga Diamond’s success at Tramore. We tipped her at a massive 8/1 to win there and we’re determined to keep our picks razor sharp today. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  One Of Our Own – Catterick, 15:15

One Of Our Own is a versatile sort who managed to win over C&D in two of her last three outings. Her most recent success, which was achieved at Catterick 13 days ago, was done in some style and that was her second victory at the track this summer.

She’s been bumped up 5lb in the ratings, but has been in searing form since the addition of a tongue-tie and another bold bid is anticipated here.

Elsewhere, Dream Deal could be another name to consider on betting sites for horse racing. He finished third behind One Of Our Own on August 6th, however, he is 5lb better off than his rival ahead of today’s rematch and that could tighten things up.

Five-time turf winner, Ghanthanfar, could post a challenge down a grade.

Best Tip #2: Paddy De Pole – Worcester, 16:30

The penultimate race at Worcester looks like a battle between two prime contenders, though Paddy De Pole earns the nod over The Height Of Fame on this occasion.

The improving 6-year-old won three handicap races in the spring, two of which came in combination with today’s jockey Freddie Gingell. That pair are reunited here and returning to the handicapping sphere could offer a route back to victory.

The Height Of Fame meanwhile, has a record of six wins from 16 efforts over hurdles and looked the part again when winning a Class 4 race at Newton Abbot on July 5th.

A 5lb rise could complicate things today, however, she remains a likely contender. An improvement on her last showing at Worcester (4th) around this time last year will be required.

Best Roughie: Tremblant – Windsor, 18:55

Things didn’t go to plan for Tremblant at Windsor on July 22nd, though there is improvement to unlock from this 4-year-old and a better showing could be in the works today. Competing off a mark in the low 70s, Tremblant has a good run in him, with his race to second at Haydock in June a window into his potential. Miss A Murphy’s charge could be worth taking here at a big price on betting apps in the UK.

An easy winner over C&D at Windsor in April, Bishop’s Crown returns to the scene of his last win today and drops down a grade to compete. The 4-year-old wasn’t awe-inspiring at Class 3, though he has delivered a grade below and could recapture that form here.

Miss Bodacious, who has already won twice over 6f this year, could also be involved.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Catterick has sharp turns and plenty of undulations, so more agile types can often be the ones to back there. Tim Easterby has been the most successful trainer by far at Catterick over the last five flat seasons, registering an unmatched 43 wins.
  • The circuit at Worcester has two lengthy straights and gentle bends, so most horse types have a shot at success there. Trainer Fergal O’Brien has been the top performer at Worcester over the last five seasons, with Neil Mulholland a distant second.
  • Windsor is laid out over an unorthodox figure-of-eight shape and there are tight bends to navigate there as a result. Trainers Richard Hannon, William Haggas, Ralph Beckett, Andrew Balding and Eve Johnson Houghton are usually the names to watch with interest at Windsor.
