Friday’s race card line up is another bumper edition and there are meetings across the UK and Ireland at Hamilton, Haydock, Newbury, Newmarket, Nottingham, Pontefract, Down Royal and Killarney before business closes ahead of the weekend. As per the usual routine, we’ve compiled a selection of free horse racing betting tips for the day’s action.
Best Tip #1: Jabbar – Down Royal, 19:27
Fortune didn’t favour Jabbar at Roscommon (3rd) last time out, though his effort was solid enough on that occasion to suggest he can bounce back at Down Royal.
Gerard O’Leary’s charge has won on four of his last six starts overall over distances between 1m 3f and 1m 4f. Jabbar is down 1lb in the rankings today and looks to have decent credentials again, albeit at a tight price on betting sites for horse racing.
Dabana meanwhile, is one of three representatives from the same yard in the GAIN The Advantage Series Apprentice Handicap, though the 5-year-old just about edges out his counterparts in our reckoning.
Dabana finished second at Down Royal when last seen at the end of June and with a hood added, he could be in the mix for another each way finish.

Best Tip #2: Rosy Affair – Newmarket, 19:00
Rosy Affair has been kicking on in some style having made a relatively sluggish start and her return of three wins from her last four races included a triumph at Newmarket over 6f on June 28th.
The progressive 3-year-old beat today’s rival Ananda on that occasion and though she has a 4lb increase to bear today, her form is difficult to dismiss and she should be a major player again.
Charlie Appleby’s 4750,000gns yearling Enchanted Life is another obvious contender. She remains lightly raced, however, her win at Pontefract on her only outing of the year so far in May was comfortable and she should be involved again for her prolific yard.
Ananda, who has finished second in three successive races, will hope to find an extra gear here.

Best Roughie: Two Shoes – Newbury, 16:10
A 62,000gns purchase for Miss J A Camacho in May, Two Shoes arrived late on her debut to win off a starting price of 16/1 at Carlisle in late June in a Class 5 Maiden event and the promising 2-year-old could have more potential to unleash today.
Moving up the grades and slightly up in distance today, the newcomer could be poised to ruffle some feathers off another big starting price on betting apps.
The Richard Hannon and Rossa Ryan combination could make Principality the one to beat, however.
A winner over 6f at Goodwood in early June, Principality failed to live up to his billing at The Curragh when he last saw action, though he was anxious in the stalls on that occasion and could rebound with a better performance here.

Stats and Insights
- The square-shaped, undulating track at Down Royal is stiff in nature, so we like to look for staying types when selecting horses there. Trainer JP O’Brien has had more wins at Down Royal (13) than any of his counterparts over the last five flat racing seasons at the course.
- The July course at Newmarket has little to no draw bias, so most horses have a decent shot at success at the track. Nobody can match Charlie Appleby’s statistics at Newmarket over the last five seasons. He has won 63 times from 191 race entries there over that period.
- With a lengthy straight mile to surge down, the course at Newbury is the perfect setting for strong gallopers. Trainers Richard Hannon, William Haggas, Andrew Balding, Charlie Appleby and John & Thady Gosden are the names to look out for on race days at Newbury.
