Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 18/11

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Monday’s race card is an exclusively British affair with meetings at Exeter, Leicester, Plumpton, Southwell and Wolverhampton to look forward to.

Yesterday, two of our three selections placed, though we’re determined to deliver an improved performance today and to that end, you can read our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: Magical Arthur – Plumpton, 15:20

Magical Arthur has been making excellent strides since joining Jennie Candlish’s stable and the in-form charge will be targeting a third win in four races here.

The move up in trip and application of headgear seems to have done the trick for this promising 6-year-old and while a 7lb penalty has been landed on his lap, jockey Lewis Saunders’s 7lb claimer wipes the slate clean. Magical Arthur is the one to beat here.

Elsewhere, Neil Mulholland’s Bella Cavalla is another name of interest from the four-horse field on horse racing betting sites.

The 6-year-old has yet to score over hurdles, however, he finished second in each of his last two efforts at Fontwell and Plumpton, and the booking of jockey Harry Cobden for the saddle seems like a significant move.

Best Tip #2: Hk Fourteen – Southwell, 20:15

HK Fourteen hasn’t looked back since taking to the sprinting sphere and the 4-year-old completed a hattrick with his win at Newcastle ten days ago.

A potential four-timer today, Hk Fourteen will compete off a 6lb higher mark today, though jockey Jack Doughty takes care of 5lb of that increase with his claimer and AW Carroll’s red-hot competitor gets the nod to prevail once more.

First Company meanwhile, could be another name for shortlists having found the winning formula in a recent outing at Kempton.

He was a cosy winner on that occasion 12 days ago in a similar race to today’s and a 3lb increase following that display doesn’t feel too heavy. First Company should have decent credentials again in this one.

Best Roughie: Batal Zabeel – Wolverhampton, 18:30

Batal Zabell recorded two wins on turf for his previous owner, though he didn’t look himself without headgear on his bow for his new connections at Leicester (4th).

The visor returns today however, and that could bring this 3-year-old old. Rossa Ryan is a big-name booking for this big-price entry, and the high-profile jockey’s inclusion makes Batal Zabell an interesting prospect.

True Promise meanwhile, has been earning the most backing on betting apps in the early market manoeuvring.

The 3-year-old is chasing a hattrick today having won at Newcastle and Southwell in November and October respectively, with both of those victories earned against Class 4 company. With a record of 4-6 on AW surfaces overall, True Promise can be expected to set the standard at Wolverhampton.

Stats and Insights

  • Plumpton demands speed and agility with the fast runaround characterised by tricky turns and some awkward fences. Chris Gordon and Gary Moore have been the two most successful trainers in the jumping sphere at Plumpton in recent seasons.
  • The Fibresand surface at Southwell is something of a unique prospect in the UK and with plenty of depth underfoot, stamina can be a useful attribute to possess. Michael Appleby has been the most successful trainer on AW at Southwell over the last five seasons.
  • Built on a Tapeta surface, the tack at Wolverhampton is slightly unusual in that it has left-handed turns and horses with previous experience there can often handle the run better. Jockeys Rossa Ryan and Luke Morris have both capped 100 or more wins here over the last five campaigns.
