Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 15/11

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Friday’s race card features action from Cheltenham, Newcastle, Southwell, Wolverhampton, Dundalk and Punchestown across the UK and Ireland, giving us plenty of room to manoeuvre in our hunt for profit.

Yesterday, we delivered yet another winner for our readers when we successfully tipped Clean Getaway to win at Sedgefield, so let’s aim for more of the same in our latest set of horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: Jimli’s Island – Newcastle, 12:45

Jimli’s Island has been making good strides since moving to Susan Corbett’s stable and the 8-year-old won back-to-back races at Perth over 3m in August and September during a peak run.

The in-form charge was also far from disgraced when finishing second at Hexham and Newcastle in Chase Handicap races last month and has the ability to make another splash in the north east again.

Elsewhere, You Some Girl could offer an alternative on horse racing betting sites, especially as an each-way option.

The 7-year-old finished second at Kelso in Class 4 conditions over a longer trip of 3m 2f in late October and scooching back down in distance today could make a difference. She’s placed on all four outings this season and might have what it takes to go one better today.

Best Tip #2: Will The Wise – Punchestown, 14:00

Will The Wise has only been on the track once this year, though the 5-year-old delivered the goods on that occasion with a solid win here at Punchestown in a National Hunt Flat triumph at the festival in May.

Today’s trip is shorter, though Gavin Cromwell’s entry is one to watch with interest and looks to have top credentials on his return to Punchestown.

The stiffest opposition should come in the form of Willie Mullins’s Irancy. A bumper winner on French soil in October 2021, the 6-year-old caught the eye when finishing 3rd at Fairyhouse in December last year. Irancy hasn’t been seen since, however, the chatter around his chances has been positive and most expect a big run today.

Best Roughie: Callin Baton Rouge – Cheltenham, 16:00

Cheltenham betting prospects look promising right across the board today, but we’ve plumped for the little-fancied Callin Baton Rouge in Valda Energy Novices’ Handicap Hurdle.

The 6-year-old completed a hattrick between July and September with successive wins at Uttoxeter, Market Rasen and Stratford, and though he was never involved at Cheltenham last month (8th), that experience could bring him on to better today.

Balhambar meanwhile, is the ante-post favourite and could be a safer punt for those looking for something steadier.

A back-to-back winner at Ludlow and Bangor in April, Balhambar looked comfortable in Class 3 company when finishing 3rd at Newbury last month and with cheekpieces back on today, he should be thereabouts once more.

Stats and Insights

  • The All-Weather track at Newcastle is flat and wide, so it takes plenty of getting and strong galloping horses can often be the ones to back in the north east. With 79 wins, Richard Fahey has been the king of the AW track at Newcastle over the last five seasons.
  • Punchestown is a fair track running with undulations around a mile and six furlongs for hurdles and two miles for chases. Willie Mullins has won an unparalleled 151 races at Punchestown in the jumping sphere over the last five campaigns.
  • The new course at Cheltenham can be a test of stamina as well as jumping ability, with just two hurdles to conquer in the final seven furlongs there. Big-hitting trainers Willie Mullins, Nicky Henderson, Dan Skelton, Henry De Bromhead and Paul Nicholls all know what it takes to win at Cheltenham.
