Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 15/06

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Saturday’s race card is packed solid with a plethora of meetings across the UK and Ireland at Bath, Chester, Hexham, Leicester, Sandown, Uttoxeter, York and Downpatrick, giving us ample opportunity to seek out more profit. Yesterday, we hit the post a couple of times when two of our three selections placed, though Charles St was tipped at 8/1 at Marken Rasen and would have been excellent value each-way. Check out our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Andromedas Kingdom – Bath, 17:15

Andromedas Kingdom is chasing a hattrick today having won at Bath in each of her last two outings (April & May). Those victories were achieved over a similar trip and despite a six-week break between races, she should be the one to beat on her return to the course.

There is a 5lb increase to consider, however, her track record is too strong to dismiss.

Local Bay meanwhile, has also enjoyed success at Bath this summer, securing top billing at the circuit as recently as June 7th. That wasn’t the most competitive of races however, and he will need to step things up here. The booking of Jack Doughty, who has a 7lb claimer, could be a factor.

Havana Goldrush is another entry with plenty of track experience and could be worth a glance on horse racing betting sites.

Best Tip #2: Tell Us This – Downpatrick, 13:40

Gavin Cromwell’s Tell Us This is a progressive type whose form has been picking up towards the summer. The 5-year-old finished second in a tough test at Down Royal in early May and followed that up to land another runner up spot against a big field at Ballinrobe at the end of last month.

Providing the rain doesn’t have much of an impact today, Tell Us This should be thereabouts again despite a 3lb increase.

Elsewhere, Gladiatorial is also shaping up like a possible contender. The 9-year-old is a dedicated attendee of this track and all five of his last races were at Downpatrick.

His chasing form wasn’t been particularly eye-catching in the Spring, though he should be stronger now that he is back hurdling and the addition of cheekpieces could add to his chances.

Best Roughie: Spanish Blaze – Sandown, 15:15

Spanish Blaze is well down the reckoning on the best betting apps ahead of today’s Win Up To 2M With Golden Goals Handicap at Sandown, though the 3-year-old is simmering with potential and could make an impact.

Spanish Blaze has won twice before, including at Sandown over 7f back in September and the same trip today could offer a platform for more unexpected joy.

AM Balding’s Mount Teide could be the one to beat, however. The 170,000gns yearling has been in solid form since April, finishing 4th at Newmarket and 2nd at Newbury before scoring for the first time at Chepstow on May 31st. With that kind of trajectory, he’s surely got to come into your thinking here.

Owen Jaraff, who steps up a grade today, is another contender who looks primed to improve.

Stats and Insights

  • Gallopers tend to be suited to the layout of the track at Bath due to the uphill run-in, though the circuit is a fair setting before that final burst. Trainers Clive Cox, Tony Carroll, Adrian Wintle and Eve Johnston Houghton have all lodged at least 20 wins at Bath since 2019.
  • There are right turns and testing undulations to get around at Downpatrick, so it’s usually wise to steer clear of the bigger horses with longer strides. Gordon Elliott (40 wins) has been the dominant trainer at Downpatrick over the last five years.
  • The track at Sandown tends to favour the galloping sorts and the four-furlong inclined finish can often ask questions of a horse’s stamina. William Buick, Oisin Murphy and Tom Marquand have been regular winners at Sandown over the last five years and all three riders are racing today.
