Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 15/04

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Monday’s race card selection includes a quartet of potentially profitable meetings across the UK at Kelso, Kempton, Redcar and Windsor. Yesterday, our three picks returned a placed effort and two winners thanks to Fiston De Becon’s triumph at Hereford and Crazierthandaisy’s victory at Plumpton. Fingers crossed we can carry our hot streak into a brand-new week here on Mansion Bet. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1: Alnilam – Kelso, 14:00

Alnilam enjoyed a win at Kelso in February over 2m and though he struggled in a Class 1 event at the same track last month, the 5-year-old drops back to Grade 4 today and is shaping up to be the classiest operator in the first race at the circuit today.

Representing a new yard for Olly Murphy for the first time, the son of Sea The Stars should be the one to beat and he is taken to carry his favourite tag to the post.

Competition is likely to be offered by Miss Lucinda Russell’s Dollar Collar, however. The Irish point winner has been backed into near evens on horse racing betting sites and won as a short-priced favourite at Hexham on March 14th.

Elsewhere, Ozzy Cosmo could be the best of the rest. He fell at Ayr last month, but won there in style before that and he could be a contender if previous form is recaptured.

Best Tip #2: Imperial Guard – Kempton, 20:00

All three of Imperial Guard’s appearances have come at Kempton and the three-year-old won there over 6f on his last outing on March 27th with room to spare.

Further progression could be in the works following his switch to handicapping and he is given the nod to defy his mark on his handicap debut today. The distance and conditions should be right today and a second victory on the spin could be forthcoming.

Jubilee Walk has earned preference elsewhere, however, he hasn’t been seen since having wind surgery, so is best avoided until we learn more.

Tsunami Spirit might ruffle feathers instead. He won at Kempton in a Class 5 event back in October and showed up well at Catterick shortly after. Didn’t shine at Southwell in December however, and will need to improve to come into consideration.

Best Roughie: Jolty Jem – Windsor, 17:20

Jolty Jem managed to post a fourth-place finish at Wolverhampton last month despite losing a show and that effort followed another promising run to second at Kempton before that.

Improvement on AW has been steady enough and if he can carry that can of form onto turf today, he could be in the mix as an each-way wager at least. A 1lb lower rating today only increases the three-year-old’s chance of upsetting.

Savvy Warrior has been the go-to horse on sports betting apps in the ante-post markets, however. He is expected to improve at this level, though he might have to wait to score for the first time.

Phoenix Passion runs off a favourable mark and he has shown promise over a trip of 1m twice before. Amancio, who has a record of 2-4-3 since the turn of the year, is another for shortlists.

Stats and Insights

  • Kelso is a track for the speedier types due to the night nature of the course, however, conditions can affect pace there when conditions are heavy. Jockey Brian Hughes has posted eight wins at Kelso this season, while trainer Lucinda Russell has 14 wins under her belt there so far.
  • Kempton ranks among the flatter courses in the UK and the more nimble, rapid horses can excel there as a consequence. Trainer Tom Lacey has an excellent 60%-win rate at Kempton this season from five races there, while jockey Stan Sheppard has won on four of his nine efforts at the track over the same period.
  • The circuit at Windsor is laid out in a figure-eight shape and there are tight bends for our horses to navigate at the fair setting. Trainer David Loughnane has a 33% win rate at Windsor this season while jockey William Buick has 12 wins from 42 races at the course this term.
