Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 13/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

There are four meetings across the UK and Ireland to pick through on Sunday at Ffos Las, Goodwood, Cork and Naas, giving us plenty of room to manoeuvre in our hunt for more profit. Yesterday, our three selections returned another two winners thanks to Shadow Of Light’s triumph at Newmarket and Bleu De Vassy’s win at Fairyhouse. Let’s hope that trend continues in our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Cloud Seeker – Naas, 17:10

Cloud Seker won a decent prize on the Tapeta track at Newcastle when last seen on August 22nd and that was the third victory on the spin for the Slattery’s charge who has really come into his own this year.

The Maser gelding, who is a reliable stayer, has been inched up in the ratings again, however, he likes to race from the front and that should aid his chances against a small field at Naas here.

The Halford and Collins’-trained Lord Church could offer an alternative at a slightly better price on horse racing betting sites, meanwhile.

A winner in three of his last four races, this progressive 3-year-old has showcased his quality already this summer and he returns fresh from a break today having not races since July. Definitely one to keep an eye on.

Best Tip #2: Arctic Gale – Cork, 14:35

Arctic Gale has been knocking on the door since the summer, though today could be his chance to grab a first win since he beat all to triumph in a Fairyhouse bumper.

A runner up in three of his four efforts over hurdles, it feels as though this 5-year-old’s time is about to come and Arctic Gale has the quality to be firmly in the mix over a distance that suits (2m 4f).

Gordon Elliott’s Kish Bank is listed as the current ante-post favourite as he aims to deliver on his first race of the year.

The 5-year-old did the business on his last outing at Punchestown as a short-priced favourite in December last year and much more is expected to come from this charge. Expect Kish Bank to be thereabouts in the day’s second race at Cork.

Best Roughie: Platinum Prince – Goodwood, 17:20

Platinum Prince is without a win since 2022, however, he hasn’t been without his good performances since and catches the eye as a good each-way prospect in the last race at Goodwood.

The 7-year-old finished in the frame in three of his last five races and was second on his last appearances at Goodwood in August over a slightly longer distance than today’s. He’s a name to shortlist on the best betting apps for this one.

For a less risky fix, consider Phoenix Passion. The 3-year-old was a winner at Goodwood over 1m in May and that kicked off a run of three victories on the spin.

Less effective more recently, however, he lost nothing in a defeat to a close rival at Newbury in September over a 1m trip and looks to have better claims than many again today.

Stats and Insights

  • Stamina is a good attribute for horses to bring to Naas due to the galloping nature of the setting and the course’s taxing uphill final push. Jockeys Colin Keane, Chris Hayes, Shane Foley and Seamie Heffernan all have excellent records at Naas.
  • Corks provides a fair and level setting, which offers most horse types a decent shot at success in Ireland’s south west. Trainers Willie Mullins, Gordon Elliott, Henry De Bromhead, Gavin Cromwell and Emmet Mullins are usually the names to look out for at Cork.
  • Previous track experience at Goodwood usually comes in handy, while the nature of the circuit also tends to suit the more nimble, agile types. Jockeys William Buick, Oisin Murphy, Tom Marquand and Jim Crowley are all riding at Goodwood today and all four know what it takes to win there.
