Saturday’s race card line up is a lengthy one with meetings across the UK and Ireland at Ascot, Chester, Hamilton, Newmarket, Salisbury, York, Navan and Wexford to pick through.
Yesterday, our hot streak was maintained thanks to Porta Fortuna’s excellent win at Newmarket and we’re determined to kick off the weekend with another profitable return. To that end, you can find out free betting tips for Saturday’s racing below.
Best Tip #1: Tag Man – Wexford, 15:50
Tag Man looked well suited to this sphere when he won on his chase debut at Clonmel on June 7th over 2m 4f and more is expected today from Henry De Bromhead’s charge in the Micheal O’Murchadha Memorial Handicap Chase at Wexford.
Running off an attractive mark of 135, Tag Man should be a formidable force again, especially with Rachael Blackmore in the saddle and he is taken to deliver the goods once more.
Elsewhere, Gavin Cromwell’s Railway Hurricane shapes up a possible each-way option at a bigger price on the best horse racing betting sites.
Despite winning just once in 29 attempts over fences, he showed up well to finish second at Punchestown when last seen and a repeat performance at Wexford could put him in the frame again today.

Best Tip #2: Sumptuary Law – Navan, 16:10
Sumptuary Law has been in flying form for trainer GM Lyons since returning to action in June and the progressive filly managed to win on each of her last two outings at Leopardstown and Roscommon.
The 3-year-old, who is upped in class again today, also signed off in the winter with another triumph at Dundalk, so she is chasing a fourth win on the trot here. Both the distance and conditions should suit at Navan and she should be a player again.
Aidan O’Brien’s The Equator is the biggest name involved in today’s Irish Stallion Farms EBF Race, however, with his odds-on price looking unattractive, other alternatives look more palatable, including Going Remote.
He won well against a field of seven at Down Royal at the end of June and finished second in successive races at Navan and Fairyhouse before that. That excellent form surely makes him a contender.

Best Roughie: Penzance – York, 15:10
The John Smith’s Cup Handicap has a typically open feel today and gives us an opportunity to back a bigger-price horse on sports betting apps. Penzance falls snuggly into that category and the 4-year-old can be right in the mix if some improvement is found.
A winner in four out of six starts on AW for Michael Appleby, Penzance still has something to prove on turf, though there was a lot to like about his effort at York (6th) when last seen in June.
Liberty Lane could also come into the picture if the race breaks his way. He won a Class 2 Handicap at Newmarket in May and though his passage was blocked at Epsom shortly after (7th), he could rebound if he finds sufficient room.
Epic Poet should enjoy the step up in trip today and his run to second at Royal Ascot in the Duke of Edinburgh Stakes might have given him a solid platform to build on.

Stats and Insights
- The track at Wexford features some tight turns and with a final burst of around a furlong to gallop down after the last bend, it’s important for our tips to be involved near the front. Jockeys Rachael Blackmore, Darragh O’Keefe, Keith Donoghue, Sean Flanagan and Simon Torrens are usually the names to watch out for at Wexford.
- The circuit at Navan is flat in the main, though there is a testing uphill finish across around three and a half furlongs at the end. Trainers Aidan O’Brien and Mrs John Harrington have been the top dogs at Navan over the last five seasons.
- York is generally a track for galloping types due to the wide bends and lengthy final run in on the home straight. Trainers William Haggas, Richard Fahey, Kevin Ryan, David O’Meara and Andrew Balding have all enjoyed plenty of success at York in recent campaigns.
