Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 13/06

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

There is another busy day of racing on the cards on Thursday with meetings at Musselburgh, Newbury, Nottingham, Worcester, Yarmouth and Leopardstown across the UK and Ireland to enjoy. Yesterday, we had success with two of our three tips, securing a placed runner (Paddy De Pole) and yet another winner when Killeemore Lad triumphed a Limerick. We’re targeting a similar outcome today and below, you can view our latest horse racing betting tips.

Best Tip #1:  Mutasarref – Leopardstown, 17:55

Ger Lyons’s Mutasarref tasted victory in an impressive seven of his last 17 starts and his last win at Naas over 7f last month was particularly eye-catching.

Running over a similar distance today, the in-form 6-year-old should be difficult to catch, providing the forecast rain doesn’t impact conditions too much. Expect this consistent sort to set the standard.

Opposition could arrive in the form of Real Appeal, who was a winner at Leopardstown twice before. The 7-year-old is a regular at today’s course and has raced there in four of his last five outings, the most recent of which returned a second-placed finish on May 12th.

On that form, he could be in the frame and market movement on horse rating betting sites in his direction could be interesting.

Best Tip #2: Sixties Chic – Newbury, 17:05

Sixties Chic won with relative comfort at Windsor over 6f on her last appearance at the end of May to maintain her solid form through the spring.

A record of 5-1-2-3-1 since January is a convincing set and though she is up 6lb today after her recent success, she is taken to deliver for J Channon again at Newbury. Sixties Chic had to be savvy to win at Windsor and she can make further progress here.

Abbey Heights meanwhile, made it three wins from nine starts when he delivered the goods at Nottingham on June 5th and competing over a similar trip today, the 6-year-old could be thereabouts again.

There is a 6lb increase to consider following his latest surge, though that is unlikely to have too much of an impact.

Best Roughie: Enderman – Nottingham, 16:20

In-form Ryhthmic Acclaim has been the clear favourite in the ante-post markets on betting apps ahead of the Discover Whats Trending At Rhino.Bet Casino Handicap at Nottingham, however, with prices unattractive, a wager on Enderman could be the better avenue to explore.

The 6-year-old’s wins have been sporadic at best, however, he has been on the cusp of something of late and today could be the day.

The 6-year-old has raced three times since the end of April, at Thirst, Redcar and at today’s course, Nottingham, in between and Enderman finished second on each occasion.

Performing over the same distance today, PT Midgley’s charge could have what it takes to make the frame again, especially if rain softens the surface.

Stats and Insights

  • Galloping horses can often excel at Leopardstown due to the lack of sharp bends and undulations at the Irish track. Flat specialists Colin Keane, Shane Foley, Seamie Heffernan and WJ Lee all have strong records at Leopardstown and will be involved in today’s action.
  • Newbury offers a fair setting for most types, though the straight mile there tends to suit horses with longer strides. Richard Hannon, William Haggas and Andrew Balding rank as the three most successful trainers at Newbury over the last five years.
  • We like our tips to be involved near the front early in races at Nottingham due to the fairness of the course. Michael Appleby has won 24 times at Nottingham over the last five years, though rival William Haggas has a better strike rate (23%) during the same period overall.
