Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 12/10

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Saturday’s race card is a typically busy affair with meetings scheduled to take place across the UK and Ireland at Chelmsford, Chepstow, Hexham, Newmarket, York, Fairyhouse and Naas. Yesterday, our three selections returned one placed horse and one winner thanks to Miss Paloma’s success at Dundalk. Keep reading to discover our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Shadow Of Light – Newmarket, 15:00

With non-runner The Lion In Winter out of the picture, the fast lane should be open for Shadow Of Light at Newmarket and the in-form charge gets the nod to win for the fourth time in five outings.

Charlie Appleby’s 2-year-old landed the Group 1 Middle Park Stakes at this course last month with room to spare and that was his second win on the spin at Newmarket. Shadow Of Light could be tough to stop here.

Elsewhere, stablemate Ancient Truth is another Appleby-trainer entrant to track on the best horse racing betting sites.

Unbeaten after three starts, the Dubawi colt has three wins from three runs at Newmarket since May and though he hasn’t been in action since July, he has the quality to make a bold bid against Shadow Of Light today.

Best Tip #2: Bleu De Vassy – Fairyhouse, 14:15

Gordon Elliott’s Bleu De Vass is the one to beat in the day’s second race at Fairyhouse.

He broke his duck on the fourth attempt to win a Natural Hunt Flat race over 2m 3f at Clonmel in April, though there were promising performances and near misses before that. The Cokoriko gelding has jumping experience and should go well in this maiden hurdle.

Blaze The Way meanwhile, drops down a level to compete and has the credentials to be thereabouts.

The 6-year-old hasn’t been seen since pulling up at Fairyhouse in March, though he won at Thurles just before that over a slightly shorter trip and could make an impact on his return to action here if he can handle the conditions.

Best Roughie: Universally – Naas, 16:25

Universally returns to a track he tends to excel at today and competing off a big enough starting price on the best betting apps, he earns our interest.

He failed to make an impact when finishing 16th at The Curragh last month, though he has two wins over C&D this year, including one at Naas and he could be a contender on his return to Kildare for a similar looking race today.

Staysound Susie is another eye-catching runner. She won at Tipperary maiden over 5f in May before pushing to second at Naas shortly after.

More recently, she roared home at Cork over 6f on her last outing on October 1st and could still be ahead of the handicapper today. There is plenty to like about her prospects today and she should be involved in the shake up.

Stats and Insights

  • Newmarket is made famous by the Rowley Mile and the circuit’s notorious dip a few furlongs from home, which can catch plenty of horses out. With over one hundred wins here over the last five seasons, Charlie Appleby has been the most successful trainer at Newmarket by a distance.
  • Fairyhouse provides a fair setting in the main, though there is a slight incline towards the winning post and some extra stamina can come in handy there. Trainers Wille Mullins and Gordon Elliott have been the most dominant duo at Fairyhouse over the last five season.
  • Stamina is a useful attribute to wield at Naas due to the galloping nature of the course and the track’s stiff uphill final flourish. Jockeys Colin Keane, Chris Hayes, Shane Foley and Seamie Heffernan all have useful records at Naas.
