Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 12/06

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Wednesday’s racing schedule features meetings at Fontwell, Hamilton, Kempton, Yarmouth and Limerick across the UK and Ireland on another bumper day for punters. Yesterday, two of our three tips produced winners thanks to Regal Envoy’s win at Salisbury and Bethpage’s success at Southwell. Let’s hope for more of the same today and to that end, you can find my latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Killeemore Lad – Limerick, 20:30

Killeemore Lad was a dual winner over hurdles last year and he showed his versatility when finishing second in a flat race at Listowel just last week.

In his last jumping effort, he finished second from a field of 24 at Punchestown (May 2nd) and he lost by only 2l in his follow-up jaunt over 2m at Listowel a month later. The 6-year-old should have a chance to score today if that form is maintained.

Gerard Keane has two entered two competitors in today’s final race at Limerick and one of those charges, Mephisto, could pose a threat to Killeemore Lad’s chances. He finished in the frame at Fairyhouse (3rd) when last seen and could improve on that over a longer trip today.

Honketonk Angel is another name that could be worth a market check on horse racing betting sites.

Best Tip #2: Paddy De Pole – Fontwell, 14:43

Paul Nicholls’s Paddy De Pole could hardly be in better form ahead of today’s Weatherbys Digital Solutions Handicap Hurdle at Fontwell and the red-hot performer could be in line to win for the fourth race running.

He completed his hattrick with a win over 2m 4f at Hereford and though he has moved 9lb up in weight, he should be able to cope with the upped distance with Freddie Gingell rebooked in the saddle.

Earth King could also come into the equation, meanwhile. The 8-year-old delivered the goods to win at Fontwell over a slightly shorter trip on May 16th and though a 5lb penalty has been applied, he should be thereabouts on his return to the scene of his last victory.

Elsewhere, Jamie Snowden’s Sea The Clouds could be a potent outsider on his first appearance since last October.

Best Roughie: Assembled – Kempton, 19:40

Assembled tasted victory at Kempton before when he won at the circuit in 2021 and the 8-year-old has the potential to defy a big price over a favoured distance of 1m 2f at the same course.

Assembled has raced only once since the Autumn and though that effort returned a 7th placed finish – again at Kempton – he could make improvements now that the cobwebs have been blown off.

Fougere is among those expected to set the standard, however, and the 4-year-old has enjoyed plenty of backing on betting apps in the early manoeuvring.

DK Ivory’s horse was runner-up in each of his last two races at Leicester and Nottingham respectively, and was beaten by only a head in the latter. Has something to prove on AW, however, he has decent credentials.

Stats and Insights

  • There is a steep back straight to climb before the track moves back down again around the home bend at Limerick and the run of the land can allow horses to gain ground. Jockeys and flat race specialists Colin Keane, Wayne Lordan and Shane Foley, who’ve enjoyed decent success at Limerick, are all in action today.
  • There are both right and left-handed turns to navigate around the figure-of-eight-shaped track at Fontwell and that tends to suit more agile types. Gary Moore has lodged 61 wins at Fontwell over the last five years, making him the most successful trainer at the track by a considerable distance.
  • Jockeys David Probert, Oisin Murphy, Daniel Muscutt, William Buick and James Doyle have all posted 70 or more wins on the All-Weather track at Kempton over the last five years. From that group of five, only Muscutt will be absent from today’s meeting.
