Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 11/05

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

The weekend’s racing kicks off with an action-packed Saturday line-up and with meetings at Ascot, Haydock, Hexham, Leicester, Lingfield, Nottingham, Warwick, Cork and Naas to pick through across the UK and Ireland, the potential to extract profit is there again. Yesterday, one of our three selections placed, while another returned another winner when Cherry Blossom did the business at Cork. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Rosalys – Cork, 15:25

Rosalys won a National Hunt Flat race in February last year before switching stables, and her reappearance and debut for Henry De Bromhead in the following September showed promise.

Despite finishing 4th on that occasion at Navan, the 5-year-old was just 9l behind the winner. Further progression is anticipated over a longer trip today and she could score over jumps for the first time.

Elsewhere, Lazy Bones catches the eye off a slightly bigger price on horse racing betting sites. The 5-year-old has a go at this distance for the first time having showed up well to finish third at Navan in March over 2m. Lazy Bones represents prolific trainer Gordon Elliott here and should be thereabouts.

Best Tip #2: Madam Celeste – Naas, 16:15

GM Lyons’s Madam Celeste hasn’t been seen since winning on her AW debut at Dundalk in November, however, there is potential in spades there and she could score on her return to action at Naas.

The daughter of Galileo was a high-price purchase as a yearling and conditions should suit the Irish Oaks entry in what looks like a winnable race.

Miss J Harrington could have a contender in Sea The Boss, meanwhile. The 3-year-old won over 7f at Tipperary last September and then ran to fourth in a Listed event at Leopardstown shortly after. If that form can be recaptured, then Sea The Boss should be a player.

High Leaves, who won over 1m 3f at Dundalk on April 5th could be another for shortlists.

Best Roughie: Quercine – Lingfield, 16:45

Quercine has made a solid start to 2024 and a win in a Class 4 Maiden race at Southwell in February was followed up by another impressive outing at Nottingham (3rd) in late April on what was her handicap debut.

There is much more to come from the 3-year-old and with potential to release, her big price on betting apps makes her an attractive prospect.

Dylan Cunha’s Gogo Yubari is arguably the one to beat, however. She’s been excelling for her new yard this year as evidenced by a record of 1-3-1-1-1 ahead of today’s meeting.

Two of those victories were secured at Lingfield and if she can handle the surface today, she could succeed again. Fidelius, who is a lightly raced entry, is another that warrants respect.

Stats and Insights

  • The circuit at Cork is generally flat and fair for most races and it doesn’t tend to favour any particular horse type. Jockey Shane Foley and trainer Mrs John Harrington are the ones to look out for in the flat racing nice at Cork this season.
  • There is a challenging uphill finish to overcome at Naas and that testing surge can ask questions of a horse’s stamina. Jockey Chris Hayes has won three of his nine races at Naas this season, while trainer GM Lyons has three wins from nine entries.
  • The course at Lingfield is an undulating run marked by some sharp turns, and when ground is on the soft side there, the emphasis should be on finding horses with stamina. Trainer Tony Carroll has more wins than anyone else (nine) at Lingfield this season, though Dylan Cunha (25%) has the better win rate.
