Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 10/08

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Saturday’s race card is typically busy with meetings taking place across the UK and Ireland at Ascot, Ayr, Haydock, Lingfield, Newmarket, Redcar, the Curragh and Kilbeggan. Ahead of the mayhem, we’ve picked out three selections that we think have the potential to deliver some profit. View our latest horse racing betting tips below, including a 9/1 longshot.

Best Tip #1:  Adaay In Devon – Ascot, 13:35

Adaay In Devon has been the picture of consistency this summer and Rod Millman’s reliable filly was only just denied an excellent win at York in a Class 1 Group 3 race last month.

She has already won three races over 5f this year however, including Listed events at Bath and Sandown. Returning to the handicapping sphere today, she should be in with a shout of success once more.

Jordan Electrics is another standout name and is sitting on an attractive price on betting sites for horse racing.

The 8-year-old has been sizzling this summer and his victory at Hamilton when last seen on August 3rd was his fourth triumph on the bounce. He’s moved up 31lb since the spring, however, he’s got to be in the frame in this kind of fettle.

Best Tip #2: Indelible – Haydock, 16:45

It’s worth noting that 3-year-old horses haven’t had much success in this renewal in recent years, however, Ralph Beckett’s Indelible has the talent to upset that pattern today.

The race’s highest-rated filly finished second in a Class 1 Listed run at Sandown last month and the unexposed spawn of multiple former Group 1 winner Midday, looks poised to make further progress here.

American Arrow meanwhile, delivered the goods as an even-money favourite on her debut at Haydock in mid-July and with that effort setting the standard, she could be thereabouts again on her return to the same venue.

Naomi Lapaglia, who has been on the up this season, landed in third place at Ascot on July 27th and has each-way possibilities.

Best Roughie: Global Energy – The Curragh, 17:40

Global Energy has already won twice over C&D this year and his form this summer has been right up there in general. Two of the 5-year-old’s triumphs came at The Curragh and he won against a big field of 19 when winning there in May over 1m.

His record reads 1-2-3-1 from his last four outings overall and a 5lb rise today might not be enough to slow him down. Global Energy’s hugely attractive price only adds to his interest.

Ger Lyons’ lightly-raced Quadruple is another name to weigh up on the best betting apps in the UK.

A winner at Limerick in June, Quadruple hit the post when coming close at Leopardstown in July, though he moved back in trip on that occasion. Returning to the longer 1m distance today should aid his quest to return to winning ways.

Stats and Insights

  • Ascot is a conventional flat track, though it can be tricky to manage for untried horses and previous experience of the course can come in handy. Trainers William Haggas, Andrew Balding, John & Thady Gosden, Roger Varian and Charlie Appleby are the names to follow at Ascot.
  • The track at Haydock features a six-furlong chute and sprint races can be tackled on a straight stretch there. With 45 wins, William Haggas has been the most successful trainer at Haydock over the last five seasons, though Ralph Beckett is next in line with 29.
  • There is a taxing uphill finish to overcome at The Curragh, so galloping horses can often be the ones to stick with there. AP O’Brien had a mammoth 134 wins at the Curragh over the last five flat seasons, which is nearly twice as many as the next-best trainer’s record.
