Horse Racing Tips, Predictions & Best Bets – 09/08

MansionBet - Horse Racing Best Bets

Friday’s race card is another bumper edition with meetings across the UK and Ireland at Brighton, Haydock, Musselburgh, Newmarket, Thirsk, Tipperary and Wexford providing the perfect warm-up before the weekend. Yesterday, we landed another winner thanks to Crystal Black’s strong showing at Leopardstown, so let’s hope for more of the same today. View our latest horse racing betting tips below.

Best Tip #1:  Reinforce – Tipperary, 17:15

Reinforce needed a dead-heat result to prevail at Down Royal in July, though that was officially his second win on the trot following another success at Navan over 5f before that.

The 4-year-old has climbed up 18lb in the rankings for that pair of victories, however, conditions should suit his style again today and he can put himself right in the mix at Tipperary.

Elsewhere, Realtin Fantasy is another name for shortlists. She failed to catch fire when finishing seventh at Down Royal when last seen, however, the 8-year-old looked the part when landing in second spot in Tipperary before that and a return to that course gives her a better chance of scoring.

Nouvel Espoir, who was a winner at Navan in May, could be worth a market check on betting sites for horse racing.

Best Tip #2: Kilmurry Jj – Wexford, 18:40

Terence O’Brien’s Kilmurry Jj was unseated in the early exchanges of his last race at Tipperary, though he put two wins together on the bounce at Tramore and Limerick before that and should be difficult to stop in Wexford.

The 7-year-old gelding can run off a 15lb lower mark in hurdling today and he can excel over smaller obstacles in the south east.

Annie Questions could pose some questions if she can recapture the form that allowed her to finish second at Listowel on July 1st. She made a couple of mistakes when last seen at Tipperary, though she has better in her locker and an improved performance could arrive today.

Hill Rocket finished third at Wexford in late July and could be open to progression over a longer distance this time.

Best Roughie: Romanovich – Brighton, 15:30

Romanovich produced the goods to win just a couple of days ago and returning to the same course to race over the same trip today, he’s got to be in contention at an attractive price on betting apps.

His record of 3-3-4-1 from his last four outings only adds to his appeal and having finished strongly at Brighton early this week, he can threaten again if the quick turnaround can be managed properly.

An alternative name to consider could be Letter Of The Law. A former course winner, he finished second behind Romanovich at Brighton on Wednesday, though his last win over 1m came as recently as July 12th at Chepstow.

His form over C&D is solid overall and another bold push could be in the offing with Mille Wonnacott bringing a 5lb claimer to the saddle.

Stats and Insights

  • The track at Tipperary is an oval-shaped course with sharp turns, while there is also a slight draw bias for numbers drawn high to consider. Jockeys Colin Keane, Gavin Ryan, Shane Foley and Luke McAteer have all enjoyed success in Tipp over the last five seasons and they are all in action there today.
  • Wexford has some sharp turns to conquer and the final run-in is a short enough burst after the last bend. Henry De Bromhead has had more wins at Wexford (29) over the last five seasons than any other trainer attending the track in Ireland’s south east.
  • The circuit at Brighton is u-shaped and the undulations and sharp bends there can be tricky for horses with longer strides to handle. Trainer Tony Carroll usually rules the roost at Brighton and he has posted a massive 50 wins there over the last five flat racing seasons.
